Rachel Crow: What Girl Power Means To Me

Girl power is about being confident with who you are. That was always a struggle for me when I was younger. For me, girl power was about finding out who I am and not wanting to be someone else. It's important to always be yourself, let you be you and let everyone know you're there and you're ready to pounce!Rachel Crow Girl Power

A lot of the time it's hard for us, because boys convince you they are somehow more powerful than you, or better than you. It's important to realize that this is not the case. Girls know what they're thinking. Girls are powerful and smart. We should know we are awesome and be comfortable in our skin.

Girl power is also about finding who you are and what you love to do. When I found that singing was my passion and was what I really wanted to do, my parents and the rest of my family really joined together and helped me conquer my dreams.

It's really important to find something you love, and that you're good at. It's like a safety. Once you've found your thing, it opens the door to confidence and feeling empowered, because there's that one thing, that no matter what happens, you can always do and succeed at.

Bullying creates really difficult situations for kids today. I've personally gone through bullying, but I had to move past it. I wrote a song about it called "Mean Girls." A lot of times girls are mean to other girls, when girls really need to join together with other girls to be strong together.

It definitely helps to step back and look at yourself in the mirror and say really kind words to yourself in the morning. That's a really good thing to do. Look at yourself and say "You are beautiful, you are confident, you are strong and you're gonna have a great day." Empower yourself and let yourself know that you are awesome and you're going to conquer the world one day.

Rachel Crow rose to fame after appearing on the first season of "The X Factor." Her hit song "Mean Girls" is an awesome anti-bullying anthem, and she also provided her voice for the animated movie "Rio 2"!
