6 Performances That Blew Us Away At the 2017 RDMA
The 2017 Radio Disney Music Awards aired last night, but we're still jamming to the musical performances.
While we were so excited to hear which nominees took home the gold(en Mickey), we have to admit that our favorite part was watching some of our favorite music stars take centerstage.
In case you missed it, here are the top 6 performances that blew us away:
Jordan Fisher Performing "You're Welcome"
As if we need another reason to totally swoon over Jordan Fisher, his cover of "You're Welcome" from the Moana soundtrack was the cool vibes we never knew that song needed. Can we take a second to praise that high note he hits at the end?
Sabrina Carpenter Performing "Thumbs"
Let's begin with the fact that this performance brought a Subway station to the stage. We're giving this set major props on the, uh, props. But Sabrina was the real star of the stage as well as her super talented background dancers. The performers all brought their A-game and looked like they were having a blast doing it. Our only regret is that we couldn't hop on stage and join them!
Hailee Steinfeld Performing "Most Girls"
We can't get enough of this singer and Oscar-nominated actress. She came out on stage for a debut performance of "Most Girls," which really got the crowd grooving. If one thing is certain, it's that sweatsuits are definitely making a comeback after Hailee and her dancers took the stage in sweats and silver leos.
Kelsea Ballerini Performing a Mashup
Country singer and winner of the Country Favorite Artist award, Kelsea Ballerini was welcomed to the stage by Tegan Marie to perform a mashup of songs providing the RDMA audience with a mini concert of her own. From "Dibs" to "Peter Pan," we got a full range of emotions from one of our favorite musical artists. This performance was really about the details… like Kelsea's twinkle lights jacket that changed colors with her songs!
Grace Vanderwaal Performing "I Don't Know My Name"
As one of the first winners of the night taking the Best New Artist award, Grace has been on our radar from the beginning. While this performance was more low key than our other faves, the simplicity of her song showcased her vocal talents. Who knew the strum of a ukulele could be so powerful?

Britney Spears Medley
Not only was this performance the hit of the night because it was a tribute to the first-ever Icon Award winner Britney Spears, but a special surprise performance by Jamie Lynn Spears brought Britney, herself, to her feet. We had no idea the singer's sister would be taking the stage, and apparently neither did she. To begin the medley, Kelsea performed "Oops… I Did It Again," followed by Hailee, who sang, "Circus," and then Sofia Carson performed, "Baby One More Time," before Jamie Lynn made her surprise appearance to sing, "Till the World Ends." This performance is definitely going down in Radio Disney history.
If there's one part of last night's show that left us wanting more, it was the Descendants 2 trailer that opened the night. Click HERE for the top 11 questions we have after watching the trailer.
