A Definitive Ranking of Nightingale Ice Cream Sandwich Flavors
Last month, we had the opportunity to try Nightingale Ice Cream Sandwiches for the very first time, and they've since become one of our all-time favorite dessert brands.
Nightingale is all about combining Southern traditions with European style to create handcrafted, premium ice cream sandwiches with both classic and elevated flavors to delight their customers. In our experience, the cookies are delicious and the ice cream is extra rich and creamy, pairing to perfection—and the classic ice cream sandwich size is so hefty, you'll want to either cut it in half or split it with someone special. The team behind the brand was kind enough to send us every flavor to taste for ourselves, and below, we've ranked each one.
9. The Classic
When we rank The Classic in dead last, we want you to know it's still delicious—there's just a lot of very special flavors ahead. It's the most traditional of the bunch, combining a rich brownie cookie with smooth vanilla ice cream for a combo that's a little basic but tasty nonetheless.
8. Birthday Cake
Nightingale's Birthday Cake flavor is only available in their smaller "Chomp Size" sandwiches, but it still packs plenty of flavor. It consists of brown sugar cookies with buttery cake batter ice cream full of rainbow sprinkles. We're not generally big fans of cake batter flavors, as they're often sickly sweet, but these actually get the balance spot-on.

7. Banana Pudding
Nightingale's Banana Pudding sandwich was one we were extra excited to try, and it did not disappoint. It combines a thick biscuit, reminiscent of a Nilla Wafer, with a sweet, thick and creamy banana ice cream for the classic banana pudding experience. However, since it's so rich, we don't recommend trying to eat the whole thing by yourself in one go.

6. Chocolate Blackout
If you love chocolate, you're bound to like Nightingale's Chocolate Blackout ice cream sandwich. It combines softer, brownie-like cookies with a dreamy chocolate ice cream embedded with chocolate cake pieces for a full chocolate overload. We're actually not big fans of chocolate ice cream, in general, but there's something about this explosion of chocolate that just works.

5. Chocolate French Roast
Nightingale has one of the strongest coffee ice creams we've ever tasted, and we mean that in the best way possible. The Chocolate French Roast flavor starts with their signature soft brownie, sandwiched with a bitter yet sweetly balanced French roast ice cream. It's one just for the coffee lovers out there.

4. Raspberry Donut
Raspberry Donut is a limited-edition flavor that may not be available everywhere, so of course it's also one of our top favorites. The soft brownie sugar cookies are almost donut-like, while the sweet, creamy and only slightly tart raspberry ice cream center balances it nicely.

3. Strawberry Shortcake
Can you tell that we just adore fruity flavors? Nightingale's Strawberry Shortcake ice cream sandwich takes tummy, crumbly graham cracker-esque brown sugar cookies with a smooth and balanced strawberry ice cream to recreate the classic dessert. It's just the thing for summer, with the vibrance of the strawberries balancing out the flavor nicely.

2. Cookie Monster
Sometimes, traditional flavors really are best, and that's apparent in Nightingale's Cookie Monster flavor. It takes classic chocolate chip cookies and fills them with cookies n' cream ice cream (complete with great big chocolate sandwich cookie chunks) to be a cookie lover's dream. If Nightingale has one greatest crowd-pleaser, we're guessing it's this one.

1. Key Lime Pie
And finally, if there's one Nightingale Ice Cream Sandwich we could eat every day, it's the Key Lime Pie flavor. Their brown sugar cookies give off just the right crumbly pie crust effect, and when combined with the luxurious, bright and creamy Key lime ice cream, the sandwich has the ideal fusion of sweet yet tart citrus with buttery pie goodness to make it all too easy too polish off a whole sandwich in one go.
