Astrologer Susan Miller Reveals How We’re All Reading Our Horoscopes Wrong

Reading your horoscope is a pretty easy thing to do.

You scroll through the list to find your sign, glance over what you can expect from the day and are on your way. Simple enough, right?

Astrology Zone's Susan Miller revealed there's a little more to it than that. Just because your horoscope tells you that you'll find true love, doesn't mean it'll come to you if you don't look for it.

"There's no predestination in astrology," Susan said. "When I say you really have to take advantage of this, I mean it. People will say, 'Well, nothing happened. I didn't meet the man of my dreams.' Well you have to go out. You have to show the universe your intent. I could say, 'You have the greatest chance right now to find an apartment,' but if you don't go out looking, you won't find one. You must do something."

She added: "Yes, we've all had surprise breakthroughs that we've never expected or went looking for, but you can't depend on those. You have to really go out there and show the universe what you want and what you believe in."

Apart from being more active in opening yourself up to the universe, another key element is also necessary to know before you can really get the most out of your horoscope.

"Everyone needs to know their rising sign," Susan shared. "The rising sign is the sign that was rising in the east on the Eastern Horizon as they were being born. You're a combination of two signs. It explains why all Aries aren't alike, why all Cancers aren't alike."

What about the mysterious 13th sign, though? How does that affect you? Guess what, it doesn't. Susan reassured us that "there's no 13th sign," so we can all breathe a sigh of relief.

As for how Susan writes her detailed monthly horoscopes for each sign, it's a bit of a process.

"I have a professional calendar that lists the aspects for each day in the hieroglyphics," she shared. "I look at the New Moon and Full Moon first. And then I look at where Mars is. I also look to see if anything is retrograding."

While it does take time for Susan to be so accurate in her monthly horoscopes, it's something she truly loves doing.

"I feel that I can show my readers opportunities that they may not see, because they're focused on something else," she said. "I can see in the chart where the help is coming from. When I write, it's not good enough to just say what's coming up. If I see a difficult aspect, I feel I have to get the reader out of the briar patch. I have to think about what I'm going to tell them. I try to help my readers prepare for what's to come."
