A Definitive Ranking of Rob’s Backstage Popcorn Flavors

At this point, is there anything the Jonas Brothers can't do? They've conquered music charts, starred in their own television series, ventured into live comedy (Jonas Brothers Family Roast), and opened their own entertainment management firm—and now, they're becoming food moguls with a tasty new snack, Rob's Backstage Popcorn, named in homage to Rob Garbowsky, father of band friend and manager Greg Garbowsky.

Following the release of their third flavor, Priyanka's Mumbai Nights, I had the chance to try out the complete collection. If you're interested in trying out Rob's Backstage Popcorn, continue reading to learn what I thought about the different flavors.

3. Kelly's Classic BBQ

What I love most about the Rob's Backstage Popcorn is how collaborative it is. Kelly's Classic BBQ flavor is their first partnership for the brand, created alongside Kelly Clarkson. The barbecue flavor is great: it's savory and smoky, almost reminiscent of a hickory BBQ and it doesn't overpower the buttery taste of the popcorn.

Kelly's Classic BBQ is my least favorite of the three flavors because, in general, I'm not a huge fan of barbecue. But, I can imagine this flavor would be a dream for those who love it!

2. Priyanka's Mumbai Nights

Priyanka's Mumbai Nights is the most recent flavor drop from Rob's Backstage Popcorn in collaboration with Priyanka Chopra. I had no idea what to expect with this flavor, but it was very pleasant! It's the most savory of the three, with notes of turmeric and garlic. Because the flavors are strong, it voids the natural taste of popcorn, but it's so well done that it doesn't matter.

This flavor ranks as my second favorite. It is a really good flavor, but it's a flavor that I would have to be in the mood for.

1. Original Sweet & Salty

After hearing this flavor was simply called "Original Sweety & Salty," I expected the popcorn to taste like movie theater popcorn. To my surprise, it tasted like an elevated version of the average butter popcorn. Instead, it's savory, almost as if it had been seasoned with Old Bay or Lawry's. Unlike buttery popcorn from the movie theater, this flavor doesn't have a strong oily taste, making it lighter and more digestible for a quick snack.

This flavor easily ranks as my favorite of the three popcorns. Original Sweety & Salty is everything I'd want out of a classic popcorn with an extra kick.
