Everything You Wanted to Know About Country Artist RVSHVD
We can't get enough of artists with unique voices that lend something entirely new to the tried-and-true formulas, and that definitely includes up-and-coming country singer-songwriter RVSHVD.
The 26-year-old Georgia native is perhaps best known for his viral country take on Roddy Ricch's "Ballin," fusing southern charm with the rags-to-riches hip-hop anthem to create something utterly irresistible. RVSHVD fell in love with country when he realized it could be a vehicle to tell his authentic story, without the need for bravado or ego that sometimes feels necessary in hip-hop, and to date, his music has been streamed more than 150 million times. If you haven't heard it yet, his most recent release, the deeply personal "Small Town Talk," is the perfect introduction to fall in love with his music. Fun Facts:
1. The first song that made RVSHVD fall in love with country music was "Sweet Thing" by Keith Urban.
"Even though I loved that song, it still took me a while to start listening, and that wasn't until around middle school. My mom worked in the elementary school cafeteria. Me and my sister would ride to school with her and sit in the lunchroom until the bus came because the school bus would drop off the elementary students and take the remaining students to the middle school and high school. So, in the mornings, we had access to
the TV. I would flip back and forth between MTV and VH1, but one day, I landed on CMT. From there, I got into artists like Florida Georgia Line, Darius Rucker, Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan."-RVSHVD
2. Banana pudding and peach cobbler are tied for first place as his favorite desserts.

3. His favorite thing about himself is that he's frugal.
"My wife says that I'm cheap, but I don't think that's a bad quality to have. I didn't grow up with a lot, so I know about deals and how to spend money
without putting a hole in your pocket."-RVSHVD
4. He's the oldest child in the family, with one little sister.
"That taught me how to be protective and it taught me to be patient."

7. Black is his favorite color.
"It's been my favorite since I was a kid, and I don't know why. Black always looked cool to me. Plus it goes with everything."

8. He thinks his Virgo zodiac sign describes him perfectly.
"My wife keeps up with that stuff, and according to her, Virgos are very analytical, detail-oriented and very reserved."

9. His wife, Angel, never fails to make him smile.
"We've known each other for six years and we got married on Oct. 7 of this year. She always knows when I'm down about stuff, whether it's work or I'm just having issues in general. She does whatever she can to lift my spirits and I'm lucky to have her in my life."

10. He considers himself to be both an early bird and a night owl.
"Some days, I like to wake up early to get a start on things. I guess it comes from years of getting up early for school and getting up early for work. But on the other hand, I love being up at night. Sometimes, I'm messing around in the studio, playing a game or just watching movies."

11. One of the most important things to RVSHVD is his genuine love for music.
"I love the art of it and the feeling of making it. Recognition is really cool, but none of that matters if my fans don't connect with what I'm making. I've always sucked at talking and making speeches, and music was always that place I could say what I wanted to say. That's why I'm ready for y'all to hear this album we've been working on. I feel like it'll shed a lot of light on who I am."
