Can’t Wait For “Scream Queens” & “Scream”? Try These Shows
Look out, horror fans! Two terrifying series, Scream Queens on Fox and Scream on MTV, are coming soon to TV screens near you, each with their own chilling twist on teen horror. Can't wait? These seriously good scary shows should keep you satisfied until then.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Buffy was the horror show with everything, from butt-kicking female vampire slayers and witches to crush-worthy vampires, tons of humor, and plots that will take you on a roller coaster ride of emotions. Plus, a lot of the baddies were legitimately scary.
Charmed
While Charmed was more fantasy than horror, the magic is spectacular, and Prue, Piper and Phoebe (and later Paige) are seriously relatable, even if you don't necessarily share their witchy powers. The weekly demons and moments of peril will keep you on their toes!
Pretty Little Liars
Pretty Little Liars is the definition of the perfect high school mystery-thriller, complete with plenty of scares. While the horror will totally draw you you, you'll keep tuning week after week to stay on top of the juicy drama and keep up with your favorite liar.
Teen Wolf
Of course, MTV's werewolf drama Teen Wolf is perfect for fans of fear. Where the show really succeeds is in creating its own lore about werewolves and other supernatural species, and in developing relationships between the characters that might just leave you in tears. Plus, Allison is a boss.
Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated
You may wonder why a Scooby-Doo series is on the list. The answer is that the show is AMAZING. It completely redefines the relationships between the main characters from the show, giving them each a complexity you'd never expect. It even has an overarching story that rivals the best of live-action shows and we GUARANTEE you will ship Fred and Daphne after just a few episodes. It's also on Netflix!
