The Type of Athlete You Are, Based on Your Zodiac Sign
Not every zodiac sign has a sporty reputation, but that doesn't mean they don't have the potential to be athletes.
Based on your sign, you might prefer to be a team player or a solo athlete—to share the burden of the game, or be the star of the game. Curious to see where the zodiac places you? Just scroll down to your zodiac sign below to find out what type of athlete you're most likely yo be.
Aries (March 21 – April 19): The Doer
As the first sign of the zodiac, Aries are self-starters who tend to lead active lives that lead them into the world of sports. They love to dive right into things, learning through practice and experience rather than taking a more theoretical approach. They're natural-born leaders who like to be at the front of the pack and will try out for any sports that catch their fancy (while not necessarily following through with everything they start).
Taurus (April 20 – May 20): The Expert
Taurus may not be the first sign you think of when it comes to sports, but once they've dedicated themself to something, they'll see it through to the end. They're willing to invest the time and practice it takes to become an expert on the subject, both in terms of physically playing and the strategy behind it. Their stubborn natures also mean they can tough it out through pretty much anything.
Gemini (May 21 – June 20): The Team Player
It shouldn't come as any surprise that Gemini, the social butterfly of the zodiac, loves sports for the collaborative aspect. They're team players who value sports where every person has their say and plays their part. When things go right, they love celebrating a win together, and when they lose, they appreciate that everyone can share the loss in stride.

Cancer (June 21 – July 22 ): The Nature-Lover
Cancers are known well for their emotion—not their athleticism—but that doesn't mean they can't be avid sports enjoyers under the right conditions. They're most likely to get the most out of anything that allows them to enjoy the great outdoors, especially sports in the water or on the beach, such as volleyball. They're there for the sunshine and the vibes, rather than the activity itself.

Leo (July 23 – Aug. 22): The Superstar
Most Leos aren't happy unless they're the star of the show, and many athletic endeavors give them their chance to shine. They can gravitate toward solo sports, which will have all eyes on them, or finely hone their skills in a team sport to become the start player. Either way, you can bet that they won't be happy to fade into the background.
Virgo (Aug. 23 – Sep. 22): The Healthy Athlete
Perfectionist Virgos tend to see most sports not as a competition but as a way to tune the body and mind, which is why they're prone to athletics. They're detail-oriented, and whether they play a team sport or prefer something like yoga or gym work to stay fit, they tend to follow the best practices to balance the different aspects of their lives.

Libra (Sep. 23 – Oct. 22): The Play-by-Play Athlete
Despite being known for their sense of peace and balance, Libras are also notoriously indecisive, and they prefer not to join sports where they'll be required to make split decisions. They might prefer something where they can follow a play laid out precisely by a coach or even something like gymnastics or figure skating that follows a set routine.
Scorpio (Oct. 23 – Nov. 21): The Extreme Athlete
Scorpios are known for their intensity, and that extends to their behavior with sports. They tend to prefer solo endeavors that don't force them to rely on anyone else to succeed, as well as extreme sports that'll get their adrenaline flowing, whether it's skydiving, mountain climbing or BMX riding.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22 – Dec. 21): The Adventurous Athlete
Sagittarius is the adventurer of the zodiac, and usually, they're most drawn to any sports that'll make them feel like a superhero. Sometimes, this just means showing off their athletic prowess in a classic game like football, baseball or basketball, and other times, it means mastering the art of archery, horseback riding or other sports with a more cinematic bent.

Capricorn (Dec. 22 – Jan. 19): The Competitor
You may not guess it, but underneath Capricorn's hard-working exterior, they're more competitive than just about anybody. When it comes to sports, they're out to prove that they're the best, and they're ready to put in all of the work in training and studying to get there. They're also good leaders, though they can be a bit demanding of their teams due to their high standards.
Aquarius (Jan. 20 – Feb. 18): The Unconventional Athlete
Ever-unpredictable Aquarius likes to do their own thing, and that certainly applies to their athletic lives. Though they'll sometimes join more traditional teams, acting as a bit of a wildcard, usually, the sports they choose to participate in are a bit niche. Whether you catch them becoming experts at quadball, ultimate frisbee or handball, you'll likely see them surrounded by an eclectic bunch.
Pisces (Feb. 19 – March 20): The Swimmer
Water sign Pisces is represented by a fish, and appropriately, this sign might have the deepest association with water and receive the most benefits from spending time within it. That's why Pisces are often found in the water, whether the sport is swimming or polo. Regardless of the sport, being in the water does double-time as a healthy activity and soothing, peaceful meditation.
