After a whole summer of relaxation and fun, it's nearly impossible to get back into the swing of things. If you start your first day off on a bad note, it could affect how you feel about the whole school year.
So, do yourself a favor and avoid the below eight common first day mistakes! We believe in you.
1. Come Unprepared
Nothing is worse than showing up to your first class late and without the right school supplies. Embarrassment-central! Have everything from your outfit to your school supplies laid out by your bed the night before your big day. You'll wake up feeling less stressed and ready to tackle class.
2. Overstress About Your Hair and Makeup
Hate to break it to you, but you're the only person who really cares what you look like on the first day of school. Everyone is so concerned about their own appearance that they'll hardly notice yours. Sure, you want to make a great first impression, but don't overthink your look! You are beautiful no matter what, so rock whatever style you choose.

3. Debut a New Look
We're all about rocking a unique look on the first day, but it's probably not the best idea to get a drastic haircut or transform your wardrobe a week before you start school. You want to feel comfortable and at ease in your own skin. Sure, get that haircut or buy that new shirt, but don't completely revamp your whole image.
4. Disobey the Rules
The first day is all about making great impressions with your teachers, your peers and even your crush. Start off on a good note by being respectful and following the rules. It's as simple as that!
5. Stay Glued to Your Clique

6. Buy Lunch
This is a rookie mistake. On the first day of school it's almost inevitable that lunch lines are out of control. Save yourself from the chaos by packing your lunch. You'll get to spend the whole hour eating and socializing as opposed to standing in line with your tummy grumbling.
7. Talk Too Much or Too Little
It's all about balance when it comes to talking in class. Make sure to speak up on your first day so that your teacher knows you're ready and willing to participate, just make sure not to be too much of a chatterbox. There's always that one kid in class who talks during the whole lecture and is such a distraction. Don't let that be you!
8. Procrastinate Homework
Okay, we shouldn't have to tell you this, but, one of the worst habits is procrastination. If your teacher gives you paperwork or simple homework on your first day, make sure to go home and get it done quickly. Set the precedent for the rest of the semester by getting your work done quickly and efficiently. It will feel so good. ????
