Aries (March 21 – April 19): Something Uncomfortable

As the first sign in the zodiac, it's no surprise that you're incredibly active. You thrive on competition, so you're always looking to be first in everything you do. Because you're not one to sit at home, we bet you'll be out trick-or-treating until the sun comes up or making your way through a ton of haunted houses on Halloween. This is why you shouldn't choose a costume that requires a ton of effort to throw together and is difficult to move around in. You need something that'll withstand your eventual night ahead, so opt for a costume that basically lets you wear comfy clothes you already own.

Taurus (April 20 – May 20): Any Store-Bought Costume

Touch is your favorite of the five senses, Taurus. You thoroughly enjoy doing things that require you to work with your hands, whether that be gardening, cooking, drawing or sewing. This is why you should never wear a store-bought costume. Because you are so skilled with your hands, you should make your own costume this year. It'll require some hard work and dedication, but if anyone can pull off the most stunning DIY costume, it's you.

Gemini (May 21 – June 20): Something Simple

Being a Gemini, you want to know everything about everything. You're the most curious human anyone will ever meet, so you constantly find yourself participating in interesting discussions with a wide variety of people. While you do love learning new things, you tend to be pretty indecisive. Chances are you want to be a million different things for Halloween, but everyone is telling you to keep it simple. Why not be a combination of things? Like Pam from The Office, you could be Dr. Cinderella. People will have so many questions about your unique costume that you'll be chatting up everyone all night. What more could you ask for?

Cancer (June 21 – July 22): A Spooky Costume

You're one of the most emotional signs in the zodiac, though hardly anyone is aware of your sentimental center because you present a tough-as-nails vibe to the outside world. You're just looking out for yourself because you know what can happen if your secrets get into the wrong hands. Your first instinct may be to go as something spooky for Halloween, but we think you'd be better off going as something a little bit sweeter. You don't need to be a Disney princess, but try being more welcoming with your costume of choice. It'll definitely end up paying off as the night goes on.

You're not one to shy away from the spotlight, Leo. In fact, you crave constant attention and admiration from your peers. While you may think the best Halloween costume is the most popular one, as you're quite a popular individual, that's not the route you should go. You enjoy standing out from the crowd, but how can you do that when you're not the only one dressed as Pennywise from It? Hint: You can't. So choose a costume very, very few people would think of wearing. This is where your creativity will shine.

Virgo (Aug. 23 – Sept. 22): Something Too Intricate

As a detail-oriented perfectionist, you pay close attention to every minuscule component of just about everything you do. This tends to get you into trouble because you don't have the best time-management skills and you're also wary of turning in anything that doesn't meet your standards. Choosing a costume that's incredibly intricate will not work out in your favor on Halloween. You'll notice all its flaws and opt out of your plans at the last minute. Go for something simple this year like a classic cat or a witch. It's easy to throw together and is something that doesn't have too many details for you to focus on.

You're a social butterfly, so you're always surrounded by a wide variety of people, Libra. While others may find this exhausting, you welcome the idea of constantly being with someone. After all, the relationships you cultivate with others are the most important thing in the world to you.  It's obvious that you shouldn't be something for Halloween that requires you to fly solo. Instead, convince your besties to dress up in some sort of group costume. If you have an S.O., persuade them to do a cute couple costume with you. The possibilities are endless!

Scorpio (Oct. 23 – Nov. 21): A Cutesy Costume

Scorpio, you're a true mystery. No one really knows that much about you, even your closest friends, but you like keeping it that way. You're one tough nut to crack. For you, Halloween is all about embracing your dark side. Being a sweet woodland creature or a stunning pop star just won't cut it for you. You definitely need to be something a little more villainous or scary, a la Wednesday Addams.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22 – Dec. 21): Part of a Group Costume

If there's one thing you care about more than anything else in the world, it's your freedom. You're an independent person who has no problem doing things on your own. This is why being a part of a group costume with your besties or siblings is not the route you should go this Halloween. You're a leader, not a follower, so you enjoy having the opportunity to make your own decision when it comes to your costume. Don't let anybody take that away from you, no matter how much you care about them.

You're one heck of a practical person, Capricorn. You exhibit more responsibility and self-control in the tip of your pinky finger than most people do in their entire bodies. Choosing an expensive costume for Halloween is just not for you. You work hard for your money, so you don't want to spend it on something that you'll wear for a few hours on one day out of the whole year. You're one of the smartest people anyone will ever meet, so you enjoy participating in tons of intellectually stimulating conversations. While you probably want to go as something incredibly clever for Halloween, we strongly advise against doing so. Not everyone is as smart as you are, so people will probably have a difficult time figuring out your costume, which will just make you more and more upset as the night goes on. You can be a pun of sorts, but try to make it a more common one that everyone will get.

You live in a world of imagination, Pisces. Halloween tends to be one of your favorite holidays because you love the fact that you can be anything you want to be. Choosing to be something like an animal or any sort of popular profession for Halloween is not the route you should go. Use your imagination to come up with a creative costume. If you can't come up with anything, being a mythical creature is always a strong choice. Who doesn't want to know what it feels like to be a unicorn or mermaid for a day?
