The Skin Inc Tri-Light Body Sculpt Fit Gives Your Body the Workout You Didn’t Know it Needed
Even though I go to the gym, ride my Peloton and go on walks every week, I still have cellulite and stretch marks.
I blame it on genetics—my mom has them, too, and used to tell me when I was younger than I'd one day get them. Unfortunately, she was right. No matter how active and healthy of a lifestyle I lead, it doesn't matter—they don't seem to want to go away! The stretch marks are pretty much impossible to get rid of—you can lessen their appearance and smooth them, but that's about it. Cellulite, on the other hand, can be tackled. And both both will probably never fully go away, but they can be drastically lessened.
If you're anything like me and deal with these woes, I'm about to rock your world. Skin Inc reached out to me a few months back, asking if I'd like to test out their newest products, the Tri -Light Body Sculpt Fit and its accompanying Body Sculpt Fit Serum. I said yes because of the LED light therapy modes (which combat stretch marks and cellulite), as well as the ability to tone and sculpt the body. It honestly sounded too good to be true, but I figured I would still give it a shot. And to my surprise, it totally delivered. Keep scrolling for my full and honest review, where I go into detail about each of the four treatments.
The Brand
Skin Inc is known for its custom approach to beauty. Dubbed a global leader in high-tech skincare, Skin Inc uses research and technology to create customized serums for people all over the world. Their serums put them on the map, but as the years have gone by, they've continued to add new and innovative products to their roster—the Tri-Light Body Sculpt Fit included.
Tri-Light Body Sculpt Fit and Body Sculpt Fit Serum: $295 and $65
The Tri-Light Body Sculpt Fit is equipped with four functions—warm, glow, lift and smooth. Each treatment lasts for five minutes and tackles different issues.
The Body Sculpt Fit Serum is meant to be used with the device and is formulated with ingredients like vitamin C, caffeine, licorice and niacinamide. The serum is lightweight and aids with each of the four functions.
Warm
The first treatment, Warm, is used to relax the muscles. The temperature reaches 108° and is reminiscent of something like a hot stone massage. It's meant to soothe your body, muscles and prepare you for ultimate relaxation. So whether you worked out or sat at your desk all day, Warm can help.
Whenever I do a particularly draining workout, I turn to Warm. For example, I did a leg day last week and could already feel the soreness coming on, so I applied some serum, whipped out the device and used the warm function on my muscles, dragging it in an upwards motion. My skin instantly felt hydrated, and while I was still sore the next day, it wasn't nearly as much as I typically am.
It's also recommended to use Warm before any of the other treatments. Think of it as a warm-up for your body. You wouldn't go on a run without stretching first, right? This is the same thing. I'll admit though, I definitely don't use it every time before another treatment, but I still do love this function.
Glow
The second treatment, Glow, is used to treat dullness and imperfections like marks. Using green LED light therapy, Glow lessens the appearance of marks (like stretch marks) and evens and brightens dull-looking skin.
After using the Glow mode almost every day for about a month (along with the serum), I noticed that my worst stretch marks felt smoother. I had some that indented a lot or even seemed to rise, but after using Glow they seemed to even out. I also noticed a color change in some of my darker ones. Instead of red or even purple in hue, they turned pink/white and reminiscent of my light skin tone.
I don't really have dull-looking skin on my body, but if you have any particularly dull areas, like under your armpits, for example, the Glow mode will fix that right up!
Lift
The third treatment, Lift, is used to tighten the skin. Using red LED light therapy, Lift helps with not only making the skin firmer but also aids in lymphatic drainage and lessening the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
I'm young, so I don't have any wrinkles to worry about, but I do have skin on my body that can use a bit of tightening. Under my chin, for example, I've always wished it looked a little bit more snatched. I've used the Lift mode with the Serum on that area specifically and have received compliments from my family! It looks a bit more defined now.
I've also been using this on my belly. I have upper abs, but beneath my belly button is a problem area I cannot seem to fix—it's likely because I refuse to give up cheese and sweets! However, the Lift mode has tightened the area. I'm not sure if other people would notice it, but I definitely do. If you have any "saggy" areas you'd like to tighten up, the Lift mode is just what you need.
Smooth
The last treatment, Smooth—you guessed it—smoothes the skin. Using blue and red LED light therapy, Smooth helps with bumps, marks, acne and more— supplying the skin with more elasticity.
As I mentioned earlier, I have cellulite. The only area I have it on is the backs of my thighs, so using Smooth along with the Serum was pretty easy. Think of it as FaceTune for your skin IRL. I've been using this mode for about a month and haven't noticed a huge difference, but it does seem like something is changing.
I don't know if it's my mind playing tricks on me, but I would swear my cellulite has lessened. I've been walking about 10 to 15 miles a week (which I started doing around the time of using this treatment), so I think that in combination, they've both helped.
Bottom Line
At $295 for the device and $65 for the serum, it's quite the investment. However, I think that if you're going to spend money on something, it might as well be on your body and health! And while this doesn't necessarily make you "healthier," it has made me feel better about myself. What more could you want?
If you're self-conscious about your stretch marks, cellulite or something else, just know you're not alone. And while they are beautiful in their own way, there's nothing wrong with wanting to treat them! I love my Tri-Light Body Sculpt Fit and Serum and think you will, too.
