Sweety High: Did you watch Full House growing up?
Soni Nicole Bringas: My parents came from Spain after the show ended. Because they didn't grow up watching it, they didn't pass it on to me. Once I found out that I got the job, I obviously had to watch it. I ordered every season for Christmas and I think we finished it in like a month. My whole family just binge-watched it together. We went crazy.
SH: Do you have a favorite episode from the show?
SNB: There was one I was watching a couple weeks ago where the cement truck was pouring cement into the house. Joey and Danny were scrambling to pick it up. It was the funniest thing. It was a lot of physical comedy, which I love watching.
SH: How are you similar to your character Ramona?
SNB: We have the dance aspect. After I told the casting directors I was a dancer, the writers added that to my character. It's awesome because I get to dance a lot in the episodes. We're also both normal teenagers. We're very close to our family. We love being on our phones and social media. She has a very brotherly-sisterly relationship with Jackson, which is similar to my relationship with Michael [Campion] in real life.
SH: How are you different from her?
SNB: Because she's Kimmy Gibbler's daughter, she's very much an extrovert. I think sometimes I like to be more of an introvert and just have my alone time. I think that's really the only major difference between us.
SH: What's your relationship like as a whole cast?
SNB: It's amazing! Everyone says that the cast of Full House was already a family, which is so true. It was a little intimidating when I first joined the cast, because it was my first TV show and I wasn't sure if they were going to accept me. But right from day one, they were super welcoming.
Every day, you're working with your family. It doesn't feel like a job, it just feels like fun. We're one big family. We're laughing all the time and we're there to help each other.
SH: Do you guys hang out a lot outside of filming?
SNB: Michael, Ashley [Liao] and I do because we're all around the same age. I had a pool party with all the kids once. It was a lot of fun!
SH: Do you have any fun on-set rituals?
SNB: Before every episode, we all gather in a huddle and we scream whatever comes to our mind. Whatever comes out of your mouth, just let it fly. It's kind of this cheer we have. It gets us all excited for the live audience shows.
SH: Are there any behind-the-scenes secrets you can share with us?
SNB: We have a gum wall where everyone sticks their gum before they perform. We all sign our names under the gum, too.
SH: Who's the biggest prankster on set?
SNB: Last season, we would keep track of how many times we'd scare each other. Michael's going to say he won, but I think I won. I would get him a lot of time when he had food in his hands, so he'd always throw it in the air.
This year, I've been getting really into pranks. The best one was when I put soy sauce in his chocolate milk. It was a pretty good prank. He was disgusted. I enjoyed watching his reaction, though.
SH: What was your favorite episode to film in season one?
SNB: The Bollywood episode. One, because it was a dancing episode. I used to take Bollywood classes, so it was fun getting back into it. Two, we had a cow on set. It was an experience. It was funny because the cow would start eating the fake fruit that's on the table. And then he also went to the bathroom on set.
SH: If you could switch roles with any character, who would it be and why?
SNB: I think I'd have to pick Andrea [Barber], Kimmy Gibbler. She has so many funny lines and the stuff that she gets to do in season two, oh man! It's awesome. It's a lot of fun watching her. I always say that Andrea's one of the best comedians ever.
SH: Did Andrea give you any career advice?
SNB: She always tells me to be nice to people and stay humble and grounded. And I think that's because that's what she is.
SH: What can viewers expect in season two?
SNB: Ramona reaches a couple of milestones in her teenage life. She has something happen to her career-wise. She also has a couple of things that happen in her personal life and her relationships with her family and with Jackson. She does something for the first time. Just hinting that!
