Starbucks Drinks From Around the World We Wish We Could Try in the U.S.

Whether you're the kind of coffee fan who will sip on something iced even when it's below freezing outside or the kind that can't fathom swapping  from their favorite hot drink just because it's summer, there's one thing most coffee drinkers can agree on: Starbucks.

While we love switching it up once in a while with a local spot or giving another brand a go, the green and white mermaid of a nearby Starbucks sign will never not get us excited. The widely beloved coffee chain can be found in airports, on streets and at college campuses everywhere—even across the globe.

If you've ever been lucky enough to travel abroad and wandered into an international Starbucks, you may have noticed that the menu looks a little (or a lot) different than it did back home. You may see several of the same standby menu items that you already know and love, but you'll also find fantastically fun flavors that are only available in that country or side of the world. If you can't quite afford a trip around the globe in an attempt to savor all of these tasty treats, you can at least imagine what it would be like to do so by looking through our list of the best Starbucks drinks from around the world that we wish we could try in the U.S. Put your passport down and listen up for:

Clotted Cream Fudge Cold Brew: United Kingdom

American cold brew fans will be sad to know that they can't sip on this delightfully creamy cold brew here in the U.S. Inspired by a true British classic (clotted cream fudge—trust us, it's better than it sounds), this cold brew is sweet without being sickly so and tastes like the first spoonful of coffee-flavored ice cream.

Lucuma Crème Frappuccino: Peru

Not a coffee fan? Not a problem—at least if you're planning on visiting Peru anytime soon. The Lucuma Crème Frappuccino is made with a fruit that's native to the Andes, and the color and flavor are both ones that are worthy of the nickname "Gold of the Incas." You won't be able to recreate it back home, though, so be careful not to fall too much in love with this tangy Peruvian treat.

Espresso Brownie: Brazil

Brazilian Starbucks drinkers are lucky enough to have tons of tasty items on their menu that we don't have here in the U.S., but the one that really captured our hearts was the Espresso Brownie (a seasonal item from their fall menu). Decadent and rich, much like a Brazilian brigadeiro, this small but mighty espresso drink is basically like consuming a warm gooey brownie in drink form. Of course, the extra dose of caffeine from the espresso doesn't hurt, either.

Iced Espresso & Matcha Fusion: Southeast Asia

If you're the type of person who loves coffee but sometimes can't pick between an espresso-based drink and a classic matcha tea latte, this is the drink for you. While you may have to book a long-haul flight to taste it, the Iced Espresso & Matcha Fusion drink looks as beautiful as it tastes. The flight might not be cheap, but your Instagram story would certainly thank you (and so would your tastebuds) if you ever do make the trip to Southeast Asia to give it a try.

Peach Shrub Fizz: China

For a drink that will make you forget about refreshers and passion tea lemonades alike, head to a Starbucks in China for this fruity delight. An iced beverage that features tangy peach juice and oolong tea, it also includes actual pieces of peaches for an extra boost of texture and taste.

Oleato Iced Cortado: Milan, Italy

The launch of Starbucks' Oleato line created a buzz around the globe last year, and not just because of the caffeine content. The olive oil-infused drinks were difficult to wrap our heads around at first, but they became so popular and talked-about that the company decided to bring them to stores in the U.S. after first launching in Italy. However, there are a couple of Oleato items that you can still only get in select Starbucks Reserve locations, like the one in Milan. The Oleato Iced Cortado is one of them, and it's the one we're most hoping hits U.S. shops next thanks to its ingredients list of Starbucks Reserve Espresso, demerara syrup and oatmilk that's infused with Partanna extra virgin olive oil.
