Stephen Sanchez Proves He’s a Generational Talent With YouTube Theater Show in L.A.

Imagine entering YouTube Theater and being transported back to the '60s with a Hairspray-esque variety show featuring special music guests.

Well, that's exactly what we experienced at Stephen Sanchez's tour in Los Angeles on Friday, Sep. 13. The tour concept was one we had never seen before, but perfect for an act like Stephen, whose fandom includes avid listeners of all ages.

Clad in a crisp suit, Stephen stepped onto the stage and started off with one of his most beautiful songs, "Evangeline." Saying he has the voice of an angel would be an understatement because it was even more powerful than that. Stephen's voice carries emotions the audience feels with each word he sings out, and that was the theme for the entire night.

And Stephen's talents don't stop at his voice. Throughout his set, he pulled out several instruments to play as he sang. His stage presence was also high-energy the entire time; even with his slower songs, he always managed to maintain a powerful connection with the crowd.

Then everything shifted, and Stephen did something else we've never seen before at a concert, segueing into interview segment, as if he was on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. During this segment, he answered some questions from the host, Connie Co, and even did a Kermit the Frog impression as he sang the song "Ain't No Mountain High Enough." He played a few toned-down songs sitting down as part of the talk show, then brought the energy back up again with some of his hits, including "High" and "Until I Found You."

Stephen was also joined by The Brook & The Bluff as his opening act. The band put on a great performance showcasing catchy songs, strong vocals and instrumentation. They were a great pick for his opener and we hope to see them again some day.

It was an incredible show that we wish we could relieve over and over again. Not only was it a memorable concert experience, but also with its unique concept, a talk show experience as well. Stephen's voice is truly generational and carries so much power and emotion. He was born for this, and from here, the only way is up.
