How to Dress Like Your Fave Stranger Things Character for Halloween

Stranger Things 2 will arrive just in time for Halloween, and it's no coincidence that the show's characters make for the perfect Halloween costumes.

If you want to dress as your fave Stranger Things character this Oct. 31, here's how.

Barb

If you're interested in justice for Barb, why not be her for Halloween? The key to nailing her look is her big boxy glasses with thin rims. If you don't have short hair, try a wig or a ponytail that hides the length of your locks in your shirt. Pair with white Keds, a plaid shirt with a frilly collar and mom jeans and you'll be Barb in no time.

The Demogorgon

We don't actually expect your Demogorgon costume to be this good, but that doesn't mean you have to give up on the idea. It can be simple as dressing in black from head to toe and printing out a Demogorgon face to make your own mask. Super spooky.

Dustin

Wear short, curly hair (or a wig), plus a red, white and blue baseball cap and you'll already be halfway to your perfect Dustin costume. Wear a retro graphic tee, denim jacket and khakis to complete his ensemble, and don't forget to wear a backpack for stowing all your trick-or-treat goodies.

Eleven

Eleven is a force to be reckoned with, but it's easy to dress like her. Start with a collared light pink dress and wear a denim jacket over it to keep warm. You'll also need knee-high socks and white tennis shoes. Complete the look with a blonde wig and use a little red facepaint or lipstick to draw in your nosebleed. A box of Eggo waffles under your arm won't hurt either.

Chief Hopper

The secret to dressing like Hawkins' most beloved police chief is starting with a store-bought tan police officer costume. From there, just paste on a fake mustache and beard and Stetson-style hat and you'll be ready to solve the biggest mysteries of Stranger Things.

Jonathan

If you're going to be Jonathan for Halloween, replicating his mop top is essential. If your hair isn't already short, try a wig or create a ponytail and hide it in your shirt. The rest of his ensemble is about the layers. Wear a T-shirt underneath a flannel beneath a dark or fur-lined denim jacket and complete the look with black jeans.

Joyce

Dressing like Joyce from Stranger Things is as much about her surroundings as it is about her outfit. If you want to go the extra mile, create your own alphabet wall with a string of Christmas lights behind you. The rest of her outfit consists of a striped red and white top, a light jacket in olive and jeans.

Lucas

Lucas' signature fashion staple is the camo bandana tied around his forehead. For the rest of his outfit, wear a simple T-shirt with a fur-lined red jacket and grey jeans. Complete the look with a backpack and a toy slingshot.

Mike

As with the Jonathan costume, it'll be tough to sell Mike's look if you don't handle your hair correctly. As we've mentioned before, you can try a wig or hide the bulk of your hair in your clothes. The rest of his ensemble consists of a giant-collared striped polo, a warm tan jacket and blue-green pants. Carry around a huge walkie-talkie, and there'll be no doubt that you're Mike Wheeler.

Nancy

To get Nancy Wheeler's trademark hairstyle, gather some hair on the right side of your face into a small ponytail and pull the root end past your right temple, pinning the piece of hair toward the back of your head on that side. Repeat on the left. For the outfit, wear your favorite textured sweater and a pair of high-waisted dark jeans. Accessorize with a gold necklace, wristwatch and messenger bag.

Steve

We've said it before, but it bears repeating that certain Stranger Things costumes require the hair to be just right, and this is one of them. It is an '80s period piece, after all. Once you've got that down, nailing Steve's popular guy look is easy. Pop the collar of a stripey polo and pair with khakis and a brown leather belt, and you'll be good to go.

Will

We recommend a wig to get Will's hair just right. For his clothes, wear a white long-sleeved shirt and a flannel under a red puffy vest and complete the look with baggy jeans and black sneakers. If you're feeling extra ambitious, you can go for Will's Upside Down by using gel to make your hair look wet and some light face makeup to look sick and otherworldly. Your choice!
