This New Cat Eye Is the Sunglasses Style of the Summer
Sunglasses have been the center of summer style forever.
From mirrored lenses, to Ozzy Osborne circle sunnies and clear '70s rectangles, no shape, style or color is off limits when it comes to daring eyewear these days.
And the sunglasses trend that is taking over right now? The cat eye. But this isn't just your average cat eye, it's a super exaggerated version that is more narrow on the face and has a strong line up to the cheek bone. We first caught wind of this trend thanks to Kendall Jenner, who seems to have these shades in just about every color.
Gigi Hadid was also quick to hop on the trend, as was Leandra Medine from the Man Repeller.

The look was inspired by mischievous Sue Lyon from the '60s. The original sunglasses are red heart-shaped framed and have a very dramatic cat shape. Perhaps T. Swift was inspired by Sue, too?
The new version is the result of a collaboration between designer Adam Selman and French eyewear company LeSpecs. The 2017 rendition is heart-less, but comes in a variety of shades ranging from clear to black and pays homage to Sue's signature sunglass' shade, red and retails for $110.
