Used to the Disney Parks? Check out These 5 Thrilling Amusement Parks Across the United States
At Sweety High, we are proud superfans of Disney parks. Like, our lifetime goal is to visit every international location and experience all the holidays. If you couldn't guess, we've already had our fair share of trips.
Because we know Disney and its lore from top to bottom, we do like to give ourselves a break from the usual to visit the many other great parks the United States has to offer. So, if you're looking for a way to shake up the thrills, continue reading to discover five underrated parks across the country.
Busch Gardens
Anyone who lives on the East Coast must visit Busch Gardens. You'll get to satisfy your inner adrenaline seeker on intense roller coasters. When you finish the rides, they also have so much live entertainment, including an ice skating exhibition and a Sesame Street dance party. Their Howl-o-Scream event returns this year, offering Alice in Wonderland haunted houses, stunt shows and more.
Dollywood
What can't Dolly Parton do?
Dollywood is easily one of the most underrated parks. You have everything you could need, including exciting thrill and water rides, delicious eats and live entertainment. And just like Disney, the Pigeon Forge-based amusement park also has beautiful resorts and cabins to make the most of your experience. You'll be in the heart of the beautiful Smoky Mountains, offering great views for nature junkies, too.
And if it couldn't get any better, Dollywood is known to treat their employees very well, including student loan repayment and full-ride scholarships.

Hersheypark
The only thing we love more than an amusement park is a sweet treat. Leading chocolate brand Hershey is giving us the best of both worlds with the Hersheypark. At this Pennsylvania hidden gem location, you can, of course, jump on a roller coaster. But you can also watch their Hershey Bears hockey team play or have a chocolate-inspired spa day. Before you go, don't forget to see a concert at one of their many venues. Post Malone and Green Day will be there next month!
SeaWorld
Do you already have plans to visit Disneyland or Disney World? You can have a one-trip stop to all the California and Florida-based spots, including San Diego and Orlando's SeaWorld. After hanging with Mickey and Minnie, befriend all the adorable sea creatures and jump on a few more coasters. They also have their own Downtown Disney-esque shopping center, with a Build-a-Bear Workshop, SeaWorld merchandise store and more.
Six Flags
If you love the official licensing in the Disney parks, Six Flags is your next best bet. The company has partnered with Looney Tunes and DC Comics to provide cameos of your iconic characters, like Bugs Bunny and Batman. During the upcoming Halloween season, they also host Fright Fest. This year, you can attend a Stranger Things or Texas Chainsaw Massacre haunted house.
Since Six Flags has so many locations, you can probably lose the expense of traveling to California or Florida for Disney!
