The Best Dye Brands to Get Rich, Vibrant Colors at Home
We have all dealt with the frustration of purchasing a bright hair dye, only to be disappointed when the color didn't turn out as vibrant as we thought. Unfortunately, that leaves us with an unwanted hair color for a few weeks until we can repeat the process and try again with a new brand.
Over the years, I've tried a lot of different brands, and I've finally gotten into the rhythm of good brands that give me the color of my dreams. Below, find a few of the companies who have never done me wrong.
Arctic Fox
As someone who likes to change the tones of my hair (from blue-black to wine), I often opt for a temporary color to minimize damage. The brand I instantly run to is Arctic Fox. It's one of the least processed brands on the market, and the colors still come out flawlessly, and that delectable grape scent will never get old.
Dark and Lovely
You'd think that hair color is one of those things that didn't matter regardless of your hair texture, but as someone with a coarser texture, I can tell you—it does. So when I'm looking for a permanent dye, Dark and Lovely is the first on my mind. They offer products with super conditioning oils, like shea and avocado, to ensure you receive the hydration you deserve in a chemical treatment that will dry your hair out.

IGK
Are you on the hunt for a luxurious hair dye experience? IGK has got you covered. This permanent color kit will make you feel like you're doing your hair in the salon using their five-step process. If you're like us, you'll get dye on at least one undesirable area, whether on your forehead or on your sink—thankfully, IGK's final step includes a cleanser that removes it from all types of surfaces.
Good Dye Young
Paramore frontwoman Hayley Williams has been known for her signature fiery orange-dyed hair throughout her career. So, of course, she would come out with her own line of dyes! Good Dye Young has all the bright colors of your dreams, including a few kits for you to create Hayley's iconic looks over the past decade. Plus, the brand's mission is just as kindhearted as Hayley by promoting a "safe and inclusive community that values vibrant self-expression and creativity."
Manic Panic
Manic Panic is the OG of hair dyes—if you grew up as a teen in the 2000s and 2010s, you will know. This brand became the most popular dye among scene kids, who were famous for their brightly colored hair. It's also appreciated for how long-lasting the color is despite being semi-permanent.
Schwarzkopf
If you have a sensitive scalp, you must purchase Schwarzkopf's Simply Color the next time you shop for dye. This product has zero ammonia, silicone or, most importantly, alcohol—one of the biggest aggravators for those who can't handle harsh products.
