The Top Five Disney Movies to Watch on Halloween
Sure, Halloween is the holiday of everything spooky, but that doesn't mean it has to be scary. Instead of binging movies like Scream, Texas Chainsaw Massacre and A Nightmare on Elm Street, we'd rather watch something that makes us feel good.
Disney, without fail, has all the movies we need to get into the Halloween spirit with a smile. If you're looking for something light-hearted this season, continue reading to discover the must-watch films you can find on Disney+.
Cruella
Cruella isn't technically a Halloween movie, but its dark tones and villainous lead make it a perfect watch for the holiday. In this film, you'll get the backstory of 101 Dalmatians' Cruella de Vil, played by Emma Stone. It turns out that this black-and-white villainess might not be so terrible after all.

Halloweentown
If you're a '90s kid, you're probably familiar with Halloweentown. But even if you're a part of Gen Z, you'll still appreciate this DCOM classic.
On her 13th birthday, young witch Marnie Piper transports to the wicked, magical Halloweentown, home to ghosts, werewolves and more. But there's an evil brewing in this town—and Marnie, her mother and grandmother are the only ones who can save the day.
Haunted Mansion
As much as we love the original Haunted Mansion with Eddie Murphy, there's something even more fun and action-packed about the newest version. In the 2023 movie, mother and son Gabbie and Travis move into the town's most haunted home. Insistent on staying, she recruits a team of professionals to banish the spirits once and for all.
Hocus Pocus
Honestly, the Sanderson Sisters should get an award for the most iconic characters of Halloween. So, of course, we love to dive into their timeless film, Hocus Pocus.
The witchy movie sees the resurrection of the trio, and they're ready to take over Salem with a vengeance, from ordering party guests to dance to death to reviving a now-zombie ex-boyfriend.
The Nightmare Before Christmas
People have debated whether The Nightmare Before Christmas is a Christmas or Halloween movie for decades, but we confidently place it as the latter. Our pumpkin king, Jack Skellington, is trying to steal Christmas after Halloween ends and transform it into something even more evil. That's much more in the nature of the Halloween spirit than Christmas if you ask us.
