5 Best Neutral Nail Looks for Professional Settings

If you're starting a new full-time job or heading back to school, you might get hit with a rule against colorful and long nail art. But this year, don't let any professional setting stifle your self-expression with nails.

There are many creative ways to have creative nail looks without using loud colors, gems or art. Let us get your gears turning with a few inspiration photos. Below, see five of our favorite work-appropriate nail looks, ranging from simple polish to dainty nail art.

Hailey Bieber Nails

You can never go wrong with Hailey Bieber's glazed donut nails. If you've never seen or heard of them, this viral nail trend takes a neutral nail polish and adds a pearly chrome top to give you the most ethereal "your nail but better" look. Besides being absolutely gorgeous, this nail color will work for any professional setting. We even opt for this look on our most casual days!

French With Pearls

There's nothing more timeless and classy than a French manicure. Of course, you could sport the regular French mani to your workplace, but you can also elevate it with gems. One of our favorite ways to upgrade our French manicures is with tiny pearls. However, if this isn't your speed, you can also try regular rhinestones or changing the color of the white border.

Glitter Ombré

Glitter ombré nails are simple and sleek, and the best part is that they are still fun while being work-appropriate. If you choose this option, we highly recommend a subtle glitter color. We love the one in the photo below because it's understated while simultaneously reminding us of a fantasy winter wonderland. For added effect, you can also try a cat eye like this image, so the glitter looks stronger when the light hits it in certain ways.

Simple & Pink

If all else fails, go with a simple pink manicure. There's a lot of versatility with this one, though. You could do something classic like Essie's "Mademoiselle" or try an opaque baby pink polish.

Personally, we love the look of transparent jelly nail polish. It gives you the most natural nail look possible.

Dainty Line Art

Our favorite option on this list has to do be this thin line art. We especially love the attached photo because it combines the trends we have on this list: ombré, tiny pearls and pink jelly polish. You can't tell us this isn't the most feminine nail art you've ever seen! Plus, you can seriously experiment with your designs.
