Winter is an odd time for fragrance. You naturally associate the summer with tropical fruits. The new bloom of spring invites all your floral scents. And fall is all things pumpkin and apple. So, where does that leave us with winter when the snow doesn't have a smell and most of the trees are dead?
We realized we associate winter with the memories we make indoors. You know. Baking cookies and other sweet treats. Sitting by the fireplace and the aroma of the burning wood fills the air. It's all our gourmand perfumes we've had in hiding for the past six months.

We're warning you now: vanilla will be the star of this show this winter. So, let's kick things off with one of our favorite fruity and gourmand scents, Falling in Love by Philosophy. The reviews call it soft and feminine, and that is the exact energy we want to channel for winter.

Remember when we said we love gourmands? Sweet Tooth by Sabrina Carpenter describes that to a T. The product description says it is "an addictive journey into a candy lover's dream." It has all the delectable dessert scents you love, including candied ginger, chocolate marshmallow, Chantilly cream and more. You'll feel like you've been transported to Wonka's delicious paradise in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, which, of course, takes place in winter.

Ariana Grande MOD Vanilla Eau de Parfum: $48+
Ariana Grande's MOD Vanilla is like the more mature sister of Sabrina Carpenter's Sweet Tooth. It still smells like your favorite after-dinner treat, but rather than eating gumdrops and chocolate bars, you'll divulge in a sophisticated praline with cocoa and vanilla. It also won't be too overpowering—this fragrance is balanced by pink freesia and creamy musk.
Victoria's Secret Crème Cloud Eau de Parfum: $59.95
We'd love to live on a winter cloud, building our ice castles like queens. Sadly, that's impossible, but we can vividly live out our fantasies with Victoria's Secret's Crème Cloud perfume. It's described as an "airy gourmand" with vanilla meringue, santal flower, and sheer amber. It's also a part of their Fine Fragrance line, which means it will last much longer than their standard body sprays.
The 7 Virtues Vanilla Woods Eau de Parfum: $88
Speaking of winter-themed fantasies, we imagine walking through a frigid forest, upholding our duties as a huntress or something similar. A little Game of Thrones or The Witcher, if you will. So, we had to include a perfume with those woodsy notes like this offering from The 7 Virtues. It combines pear and rose to produce an elevated and elegant version of your classic vanilla scent.
LoveShackFancy Bohème Eau de Parfum: $125
LoveShackFancy has quickly and quietly become one of our favorite perfume brands. Besides the adorable packaging, they always choose the right combination to create the most heavenly fragrance you've dreamed of. Bohème uses white amber and sandalwood with blackcurrant and peony to provide a warm yet delicate fragrance. It's simultaneously woodsy, floral and gourmand.
