The 5 Best Things We Look Forward to Every Spring

It's only been two days, but we have already been thoroughly enjoying the spring season. The skies are already clearer, the temperatures are warmer and our moods are much better. We are seeing the world through rose-colored lenses and so not mad about it.

We've only scratched the surface of what makes spring so great. Curious to dive deeper into why its clearly the superior season? Continue reading to discover our top five reasons why we love spring.

Daylight Saving Time Begins

It's not fun to know you've lost an hour of sleep, but it's a price worth paying. Once Daylight Saving Time begins, we can expect the days to last longer. In other words, we have more time to run errands, appreciate nature and, most importantly, make memories with our loved ones. We will appreciate this the most because we know fall and winter will return in the blink of an eye.

School and Work Starts to Slow Down

With spring, you know vacation time is right around the corner. In fact, spring semester has the most breaks between the traditional week-long vacation and Memorial Day weekend. Shortly after, you'll have your summer break. It's a much-needed reset from the burnout we've had since everything ramped up in August of last year.

We Don't Have to Worry About Chunky Layers of Clothing and Black Ice

Our least thing about winter isn't the heaps of snow or the below-zero temperatures. More than anything, we cannot stand the black ice it creates. You'll be walking one minute. Suddenly, you've been wiped out due to a discreet sheet of ice. It hurts so bad that even the warm layers of clothes we wear don't provide enough cushion. Speaking of layers, we like to dress light. The moderate spring weather means we can now be comfortable with a simple sweater or jacket.

Seasonal Restaurants and Events Are Open Again

Why is it that the best restaurants are the ones only open during certain times of the year? It's probably because we can't over-consume it, but we take it as a signifier of the superior seasons. After all, we are happier when we have a delicious cup of soft serve at our fingertips.

And seasonal operation extends beyond restaurants. There are even a few hangout spots you can only do during the spring and summer. For example, the drive-in movie!

The Weather, Obviously

We, of course, had to include a special section for the top reason why spring is great. It has the most moderate temperatures and views. While beautiful, summer is sweltering. Fall is only beautiful for a week before it gets rapidly gloomier and colder. And winter is, well, winter. Spring, on the other hand, only goes up. It starts cool before hovering around 70 or 80 degrees. We also get to witness all the trees and grass turn back to a vibrant shade of green.
