How to Create the Most Comfortable Movie Theater Experience

This year has had so many blockbuster releases. We saw Barbie earlier this year, Five Nights at Freddy's and now, we've fully returned to our The Hunger Games era. It's safe to say we spend a lot of time at the movie theater. But for some, it can be an anxiety-inducing sensory overload.

Ahead, here are five tips to have the most comfortable movie theater experience so you don't have to miss any premieres.

Pick a Nice Theater

Around 2020, many movie theaters upgraded to more luxurious amenities. Most have leather reclining seats (with heaters), an expanded menu and more. Take advantage of it if you have one because it can make going to the theaters twice as fun—and some still look like the '90s.

Enjoy the Food

Whenever we watch a movie, we always have more fun if we have a snack in our lap. As mentioned earlier, some theaters have an expansive theater with items like pizza and burgers. You might be able to have dinner in the solace of the big screen. Don't forget your supersized snacks and drinks, too!

Get Cozy!

It's cold outside and even more chilly inside the theater. Sure, you can wear your coat. But instead, why not cozy up with a fuzzy pair of socks and a big blanket? If you live near one of the nicer theaters, don't underestimate the combination of a reclining seat and a blanket. You will feel relaxed during the most intense films.

Bring a Friend

You have unlocked a true superpower if you have the confidence to go to a theater alone. However, nothing can replace the bond of sitting next to someone you love during a movie. Like Nicole Kidman said in the AMC ad, we come to this place for magic—together.

Leave If You Need To

Movies can be loud and frightening. By the time you're an hour in, it might feel overwhelming. There's nothing wrong with taking a second to hang out in the lobby or bathroom to reset. Besides, you can always have someone catch you up or fill in the holes from online summaries later.
