In celebration of today's holiday, discover five of our favorite recent releases in the genre over the past few weeks, from baddie anthems like "Deli" by Ice Spice to the catchy commentary on the music industry from Doja Cat.

'Deli' – Ice Spice

Ice Spice has taken over the industry and our hearts, and "Deli" is just another one of her spectacular, empowering, and feminine hits.

In typical Ice Spice fashion, there's a deep, bouncy bassline that makes you want to dance through the entire song. But unlike her previous songs, the rap princess's vocals become more powerful as she confidently reveals, "I'm baggin' his partner, I'm petty."

'Paint the Town Red' – Doja Cat

Doja Cat's unapologetic honesty might be controversial and off-putting to many, but with her new single "Paint the Town Red," she makes it clear that she'll keep doing her because she's uninvolved with the chatter.

In this addictive bass-heavy track, Doja touches on the negative discourse about her shaving her eyebrows and hair while simultaneously celebrating her success" "I don't need a big feature of new sidekick," she declares before later exposing, "I don't care, I paint the town red," as a final rebuff to the critics.

'Patience' (feat. Don Toliver) – Lil Uzi Vert

"Take your time," Lil Uzi Vert whispers in the opening line of "Patience." Knowing that Pink Tape was years in the making, the assertion makes the line become all the more impactful.

In this dreamy, rage rap track, Lil Uzi narrates their confusion about their shifting relationship with the person they love. Lost in addiction, they begin to parallel their affection to their vices, hopelessly wondering if there's any way to salvage their mistakes.

'The Weekend' – Stormzy & Raye

We've always thought British rap has an extra flair, thanks to the English accents, and Stormzy's new song with breakthrough artist Raye, "The Weekend," is a prime example.

With this wavy duet, Stormzy and Raye flirt with each other as they try to determine a day for their forbidden rendezvous. We always love a track where the two artists play off each other's lyrics rather than sing one narrative together—and this song does just that over a calming, classic R&B beat.

'Fruit Loop' – Flo Milli

Flo Milli has a stacked discography of viral hits, and "Fruit Loop" is on the fast track to be her next one.

Compared to her previous music, "Fruit Loops" has a lowkey instrumental as Flo Milli dances around the beat in a lower register. As always, the Alabama-based rapper will deliver lyrics that will make you feel like you're on top of the world—this time, she nonchalantly shares, "Everything I do makes the boys go cuckoo" and "I'm getting green like Luigi.
