Everything You Need to Know About the Characters on The CW’s Riverdale

If there's one thing we've been looking forward to in 2017, it's the premiere of Riverdale.

Based on the fictional town in which the classic Archie Comics are set, we will get to see the famed series' characters come to life on TV in modern-day high school life.

Luckily we don't have to wait in agony for too much longer, because the show airs tonight on The CW at 9/8c.

Before the premiere, get to know Archie and the crew a little bit better by reading the character bios below:

Archie Andrews

Archie (played by K. J. Apa) is an all-American teen who's trying to juggle being a star football player and an aspiring musician, all while attempting to please his father. Plus, he's keeping his current relationship a secret from everyone in town.

Betty Cooper

Though she appears to be the typical girl-next-door type, there is much more to Betty (played by Lili Reinhart) than meets the eye. This blonde-haired beauty continually tries to appease her overprotective mother, but she begins to act a little bit more rebellious when she becomes friends with Veronica Lodge. Mixed into all of this, Betty is also dealing with her recent development of feelings for her childhood friend Archie.

Veronica Lodge

Recently transferring from New York City to Riverdale, Veronica Lodge (played by Camila Mendes) is the attractive new girl in town. She develops a friendship with Betty right off the bat, and even some feelings for Archie. While she may be relatively new to Riverdale, Veronica is on the fast track to becoming the new Queen Bee with her persuasive nature.

Jughead Jones

The former best friend of Archie, Jughead (played by Cole Sprouse) is the epitome of the mysterious writer-type. He's become a bit of a loner since he had a falling out with Archie, so he spends most of his days scribbling down the events that unfold in Riverdale. In fact, Jughead even serves as the narrator of the show.

Cheryl Blossom

Manipulative and condescending, Cheryl (played by Madelaine Petsch) is the alpha female of Riverdale. But that is about to change due to Veronica's presence in the small town. Cheryl may not be the nicest, but after her twin brother is mysteriously murdered, can you blame her for being so cold?

Josie McCoy

The lead singer of Josie and the Pussycats, Josie (played by Ashleigh Murray) is nothing short of ambitious. She's set big goals for her and her band that expand far past the small town of Riverdale. Archie attempts to write songs for her band, but Josie isn't having any of it. Her dreams are more important than some jock star's.
