The Desolation Of Smaug Premieres Today!

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug debuts in theaters across the country today, much to the delight of Lord Of the Rings fangirls like us!

The film is second part in an epic three-part series based on J.R.R. Tolkien's novel, The Hobbit, and the sequel to An Unexpected Journey.

In the film, a hobbit named Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) continues his adventure with Gandalf the wizard (Ian McKellen) and an unruly ensemble of 13 dwarves to reclaim a lost treasure from the last great dragon of Middle Earth, Smaug (Benedict Cumberbatch).

Evangeline Lilly also stars as an elf named Tauriel in the new film. Tauriel was not in the original story of The Hobbit, but was added by the writers of the film to bring a girl power element to a male-dominated story!

We can't wait to see what Tauriel brings to the beloved story, and bet this film is going to be as much of a hit as the last!
