The Top Disney Attractions That Deserve a Holiday Makeover

While the Disney holiday menu items and after-hours park parties are undoubtedly iconic, the festive overlays on attractions are underrated. Many people can say they've rode the Jungle Cruise, but how many people can say they've been on Jingle Cruise?

That said, not every ride at Disneyland and Disney World receive a Christmas version—and some should. Below, discover five attractions that somehow don't receive a makeover.

Frozen Ever After

Though Frozen takes place during the summer, Elsa's blizzard makes it feel like a winter wonderland. Its snowy setting makes it the perfect place for a Christmas remix—at least on the outside of the building and the queue. Imagine seeing Olaf's snowman friends alongside festive Christmas decor. Adorable, right?

Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway

The nice thing about Mickey and Minnie's Runaway is that you experience everything on this ride, including stormy weather and memorable summer nights at the carnival. You'd think a Christmassy moment could easily fit into the ride—maybe Daisy teaches you a holiday dance instead.

Matterhorn Bobsleds

Nothing says winter like bobsledding. Yet somehow, Disneyland hasn't decorated the Matterhorn ride for Christmas in years. When you're on a snow mountain, the possibilities are endless. For example, in 1961, the resort added a Christmas tree topper to the top of it. You could also project a Christmas tree-like decoration around it. And why not add some festive items within the ride, too?

Star Tours

We all know about Guardian of the Galaxy's holiday special, prompting a Christmas overlay for Mission Breakout. Since Star Wars also has a Christmas celebration, we think Star Tours is overdue for a makeover. Sadly, since the ride is so old, it probably won't ever happen. But we can imagine how great it would be to have a Christmas plotline for the escape.

Tiana's Bayou Adventure

Tiana's Bayou Adventure is probably too new to start unveiling a Christmas mix, but since Splash Mountain had one, we're expecting Tiana's will at some point. They already have a beautiful canvas for it, thanks to the rides twinkling fairy lights. All you have to do is turn those into rainbow Christmas lights.
