5 Easy Ways to Elevate Your Gym Outfit
When we go to the gym, we usually look like we rolled out of bed wearing an oversized tee, leggings and a messy bun or ponytail. But as soon as we step inside, we regret it because we see so many stylish outfits that probably make exercising twice as fun.
We might not work up the courage to have a nice outfit every time we go, but we have managed to do it a few times a week. Ahead, discover five easy tips we implemented to upgrade our workout OOTD.
Always Add Layers
With every outfit, our one tip to shake things up is by adding layers. Some people wear sweatpants over their biker shorts, giving the illusion of a belt—and often adding a pop of color. Or, you can wear a fitted bolero top over a tank. There are many ways to play with it, so get creative. Plus, if you start to get sweaty, you can peel off a layer to feel more lightweight.
Cute Colors
In our everyday life, we pretty much only wear black. That often seeps into our gym fits, leaving us more bored with our looks. However, when we wear something brighter, honestly, our mood becomes more energetic and alive. We love wearing trendy colors like the viral strawberry milkshake shade.

Unique Hemlines
Most days, you won't find us rocking a one-shoulder top or a shirt with a criss-cross waist hem. But when we're at the gym, we become different people.
Activewear tends to be plain, so instead, many designers add cut-outs and other complex hems to add character to their pieces. These tops look so flattering and accentuate the curves you hope to see after an intense exercise.
Clean Shoes
We typically work out in white shoes—but everyone knows white gets dirty quickly. When they no longer have that dazzling appearance, our entire outfit becomes dull. Now, we try to shine them every so often to keep everything refreshed.
If you don't like white shoes, we recommend a colorful shoe to spice up even the most plain gym outfits.
Light Makeup
We'll be the first to admit that we don't wear makeup to the gym frequently. It melts off when you're dripping sweat and can lead to more breakouts. However, when you know you'll be doing a light workout, you might feel put together with a pop of color on your lips or a brightening concealer. Plus, it's perfect for those days you want to take a gym selfie.
