5 of the Most Captivating Airport Reads

A long flight is the place to unwind and forget about the hustle and bustle of everyday life. No wifi, and if you're by the window, you get to just enjoy the beauty of nature. If you ask me, it's the perfect time to finally crack open a book.

Ahead, discover a few of my favorite airport reads, from self-improvement to romantic comedies, to help rest my mind through travels.

Fangirl Down by Tessa Bailey

I think I can speak for every modern girl when I say that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's romance over the past few months has everyone wishing they were a WAG (wives and girlfriends of athletes). While most of us are hunting for our sporty fling, take a breather with Tessa Bailey's Fangirl Down, a steamy romance about a bad boy pro golfer who falls for his biggest fan.

I Didn't Know I Needed This: The New Rules for Flirting, Feel and Finding Yourself by Eli Rallo

If your vacation has you soul-searching, you might want to bring Eli Rallo's must-have self-improvement novel I Didn't Know I Needed This with you. It's a collection of anecdotes from Eli's life that helped her come to terms with singlehood and take back the autonomy of her life. Like she says in her book, "Because that's life. And life would be good either way."

Josh and Hazel's Guide to Not Dating by Christina Lauren

Are you searching for a feel-good romance to help your trip come even sooner? Always go with Christina Lauren, but especially Josh and Hazel's Guide to Not Dating. It's your classic "will they or won't they" story as these two friends discover what their relationship means to each other. I won't give you too many spoilers, but it is easily one of the cutest stories I've ever read.

The Housemaid's Secret by Freida McFadden

From experience, I know that Freida McFadden's novels are great for the airport. During my last five-hour flight, I read the first part of the series following Millie Calloway's adventures in housekeeping. Millie's inner monologue keeps you on the edge of your seat—and while the plot twists are slightly predictable, it's still a thrilling read because of her point of view.

Romancing Mister Bridgerton by Julia Quinn

If you've been anxiously counting down the days until Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington's Bridgerton season hits Netflix on May 16, you need to read Romancing Mister Bridgerton. You'll fall in love with the characters in a new light as you hear Penelope's stream of consciousness as they go from friends to lovers. And you'll get even more Polin content because we know the adaptation is never as detailed as the original thing.
