The Most Creative Museums Around the United States
We all know the most popular types of museums—art and history—but beyond the (very important) cultural education of places like the Smithsonian and the Met are arguably more thrilling and interactive adventures.
If you're looking for something more exciting, we'd like to introduce to you these lesser-known spots for extra laughs and lots of unique photo ops.
The Neon Museum in Las Vegas, Nevada
The Neon Museum in Las Vegas is at the top of our bucket list for museums to visit. It's nearly three acres of Las Vegas history, showcasing over 250 of the most iconic neon signs from the city's abandoned hotspots. The museum used to host a Tim Burton exhibit (which we are so sad we missed), and though it closed in March 2020, there are still a couple of signs with a permanent home. Those two signs alone make us want to visit!
SPAM Museum in Austin, Minnesota
We're not huge fans of SPAM, but there's something about its eponymous museum in Austin, Minnesota, still calling our names. You'll learn everything about the canned meat's life, tracing back to its conception in 1937. There are also a few immersive activities to enjoy while snacking on SPAM, which they call Spamples.

Museum of Death
Anyone who loves spooky things must go to the Museum of Death in Hollywood, California, or New Orleans, Louisiana. A venture through these museums takes you into the minds of notorious serial killers. It's perfect for Halloween, and we just have to say they have some of the cutest merchandise.
WNDR Museum
The WNDR Museum shows that art can go beyond a flat canvas. This exhibition showcases art that is also sensory and three-dimensional. With so many themed rooms, it's one of the best museums to visit if you're looking for a one-of-a-kind photoshoot. And one of the best parts is that it's open in four cities: Chicago, San Diego, Boston and Seattle.
National Videogame Museum in Frisco, Texas
As video game lovers ourselves, we were very intrigued to discover the National Videogame Museum in Frisco, Texas. This museum will teach you about retro consoles, like the Atari and '80s arcade games, and some of the franchises that are still kicking today, like Donkey Kong and Pokémon. If you go soon, you can celebrate their limited-time exhibit for the 30th anniversary of the Super Mario Bros. movie.
