The Must-Watch Horror Movies of 2023
Horror movie season is upon us, and this year has been stacked with thrilling new releases, from Disney's Haunted Mansion to the long-awaited return of Exorcist.
Below, discover all the must-watch films to watch this October, including a few favorites that came out earlier this year and ones to look out for this month.
Haunted Mansion
Do you love horror, but jumpscares aren't your thing? Disney's reboot of Haunted Mansion is the movie for you. This feel-good comedy horror follows the story of a mother and son who move into—you guessed it—a haunted mansion. They team up with a group of supernatural experts to take down the spirits once and for all.
The Nun 2
The Conjuring cinematic universe expands once again with a sequel to The Nun. After her previous monastery becomes unlivable (the first film), Sister Irene heads to Italy after having a vision. More possession finds her and her Sisters in trouble, and they must find a way to save Maurice, a worker she met in the first movie.
Saw X
At this point, Jigsaw's reign of terror will never end because his mayhem returns in the 10th installment of Saw. Expect everything you love about the franchise—gore, gore and more gore—as John Kramer (the person behind Jigsaw) "invites" four new victims to his "game."

Pet Sematary: Bloodlines
It looks like Stephen King's novels are the next franchises to receive a reboot, and we're not mad about it. This time, it's the prequel to Pet Sematary. Jud Crandall, played by Jackson White (and John Lithgow in the first), discovers the secrets that prompted evil within the cemetery.
The Exorcist: Believer
Rotten Tomatoes called The Exorcist the scariest movie ever. After a 20-year break since the end of its prequel franchise, the series is back for more. In The Exorcist: Believer, a girl and her best friend become possessed while trying to contact her mother, who passed away, and together, their parents must perform an exorcism to save them.
Five Nights at Freddy's — Oct. 27
Five Nights at Freddy's might be our most anticipated movie of the year. You love the game, and you'll probably love the film. Starring Josh Hutcherson, a security guard starts a job at an abandoned entertainment center and pizza restaurant and must survive its four murderous animatronics.
