10 Things to Do Every Morning to Ensure You Have a Good Day
If you want to have a good, productive day, it all starts with your morning routine.
In order to thrive during the day, you need to go back to the beginning—the morning! Before you even set out to do your major to-dos of the day, you should already have a crossed-off checklist you've completed at home. Not sure where to begin? Continue below to get a look at the 10 things to do every morning to ensure you have a good day.
1. Wake Up at a Consistent Hour
Do you know how some people have an internal alarm clock and can wake up without an alarm? That's because they've trained their bodies to wake up at the same time every day, without delay. If you do this, your body will thank you in the long run and in turn, it will make you more productive.

2. Make Your Bed
Some people think making their bed every day is a waste of time because they're just going to un-make it later that night, but that's far from the truth! Wouldn't you rather your room feel like a nice, tidy hotel? By making your bed every morning, you're sticking to a routine and living in a clean space, free of dust!
3. Open the Curtains (and Maybe a Window)
If you're feeling drowsy in the mornings, it might have something to do with the lack of natural light, so be sure to open up your curtains or blinds to let the light in! Depending on the weather situation, you can even open up a window—and if that's not a possibility, turn on a fan to get the air moving.

4. Light a Candle or Spritz a Fragrance
Scent plays a large part in our lives, even if you don't realize it. Whether you have a favorite candle or room fragrance, make sure you use it every morning. Go for a light, fresh scent to wake up your spirits!
5. Brush Your Teeth
This should seem like a super obvious thing to do every morning, but make sure to brush your teeth! This should be one of the first things you do not only to get that yucky taste out of your mouth but also to have fresh breath and keep bacteria at bay.

6. Do Your Skincare Routine (and Makeup, If That's Your Thing!)
There's nothing more refreshing than doing your morning skincare routine. Slathering your face in cleansers, oils and moisturizers feels like literal heaven on the skin. Not only will this help your skin to feel good, but it will also keep it clean. Additionally, if you like to wear makeup, put on as little or as much as you'd like. It will set you up for a productive day!

7. Journal, Read, Meditate and/or Pray
When you journal, read, meditate or pray, you're helping your mental health absolutely soar, and doing so in the morning is bound to set you up for a productive, good day! If you opt to journal, you can write out a list of things you're thankful for. If you read, read something that will better your mind. And if you meditate or pray, clear your mind!
8. Make a Checklist for the Day
In order to have a productive day, you need to know what exactly it is that you need to do. After you wake up every morning, write out a list of the things you need to accomplish that day—you can even include the things you've done in the morning like making your bed! Crossing off items will make you feel amazing and ready to take on each of your tasks.
9. Chug a Full Glass of Water
If you were to ask gym enthusiasts, health nuts or even people in the medical field about what they do in the morning, we can pretty much guarantee that all of them chug at least one glass of water right when they wake up. This helps to flush out the toxins in your body and to hydrate yourself.

10. Eat a Nutritious Breakfast
Last but not least on our list of things to do every morning to ensure you have a good and productive day is to eat a nutritious breakfast. If you fast in the mornings, this of course won't pertain to you. However, if you do opt to eat, make sure it's something healthy and nutritious. Stay away from things like Pop-Tarts and sugary cereals, and instead go for oatmeal, eggs and the like.
