Thomas Day Chronicles the End of His Teenage Journey in Love Me for Another Day

21-year-old singer-songwriter Thomas Day's musical talents have taken him from being a TikTok sensation to a bona fide pop star, and today, he met another major milestone in his career with the release of the new full-length project, Love Me for Another Day.

Including smash hits such as "not my job anymore" and "Gravity," this collection of music isn't quite his debut album, but more a profound glimpse into a period of Thomas's life—specifically, the time between the ages of 17 and 19 when these tracks were written.  Thomas has one of the biggest voices in the business, using it to share stories straight from the heart, and his talents have never been more apparent than on these 10 songs. Thomas also just embarked on his first-ever headline tour across North America, which concludes on Nov. 15, but we got the chance to catch up with him in the middle of it all for his insights into Love Me for Another Day and what it means to him.

Sweety High: What does the name Love Me for Another Day mean to you? Why did that title track feel like the perfect summation of this group of songs?

Thomas Day: The title, Love Me For Another Day, was inspired by the first song on the track list ("Love Me For Another Day"). Love Me For Another Day is a collection of songs that I wrote between the ages of 17 and 19. I think the title sums up my journey over those years in the most perfect way.

SH: What do you feel are the overarching themes of the project? What kind of feel do you hope fans take away from it?

TD: Love Me For Another Day explores themes of acceptance, heartbreak and anger. I hope that the project helps listeners to find a sense of closure with their own pasts.

SH: How would you describe the project's sound? Production-wise, how did you go about bringing these tracks to life?

TD: I would describe the overall sound as expressive! I used a lot of background harmonies in every track, which I think really helped to lift the sound.

SH: How do you feel that these songs represent where you all are in life right now?

TD: These songs are a reflection of what I've been through and a way of understanding those things I've been through, too.

TD: Love Me For Another Day is a collection of songs that I wrote over the course of a few years. I'm not ready to release my official "debut album" yet, but I am working on it, and I'll release it when I feel ready!
