The Top TikTok-Predicted Beauty Trends for Fall 2023

With fall finally here, there's a lot more to look forward to than just all the new and returning pumpkin-flavored goodies at your nearest Trader Joe's—especially when it comes to beauty trends.

For a little extra inspiration, we turned to the place we go for almost every new trend prediction: TikTok. Without further ado, let's jump into the top TikTok-predicted beauty trends for fall 2023:

Barbiecore

You didn't think we'd seen the last of the Barbiecore trend yet, did you? While the style trend has been around for a while, we're seeing a revival in Barbie-inspired beauty after the mega success of the summer blockbuster. If you want to nail this TikTok-predicted fall beauty trend, all you need to do is think pink. Seriously, we're talking pink eyeshadow, pink lips, pink nails and even pink streaks in your hair if you want to go really in on the look. Add on a thin black eyeliner wing and you'll soon find yourself saying "Hi, Barbie!" every time you pass a mirror.

Heavy Metal Makeup and the 'Rockstar Girlfriend Aesthetic'

Featuring a strong emphasis on darker tones, strong contour, sharp lines and even sleek hairstyles, the "rockstar girlfriend aesthetic" is taking over TikTok as a predicted beauty trend for this fall. Think of it as the anti-"soft girl," as it leans on looks that definitely don't bother trying to look natural or effortless (although they aren't any less gorgeous). And while it may seem ideal for Halloween, it's a look that's worth rocking even well before and after spooky season. If you're thinking of trying this edgier look out yourself, we suggest picking up a good eyeshadow palette that features dark, layerable shades as well as a solid contour stick to help you achieve that chiseled look.

Coquette

On the other side of the spectrum from the rockstar girlfriend aesthetic is Coquette, which can be described as a mix of period-inspired styles that lean soft, feminine and royal. If you're struggling to picture how Coquette beauty actually looks, think of Cassie from Euphoria or even Daphne from Bridgerton—floral-esque colors, soft blush, glossy lips, not a ton of contour and big, bright eyes that would make any doe envious.

Oat Latte Eyes

While this TikTok beauty trend is essentially just a more fun way of describing a soft brown smoky eye, we still love how perfectly on point it is for fall (it is pumpkin spice latte season, after all). To achieve it, simply blend out some of your favorite brown tones from your go-to eyeshadow palette(s) and add an extra shimmery tone on top if you really want to add the extra touch on top of your coffee shop-perfect eyes.

'Kidcore'

If you love experimenting with flashy trends and wearing as many bright colors as possible, this is the fall beauty trend for you. TikTok is showing it off as an elevated version of the many Y2K trends we've seen in seasons past, especially since there aren't any actual "rules" to creating kidcore looks. So go ahead and color outside the lines—it's all about embracing your inner child anyway.

Spidery Lashes

Natural-looking lashes? No, thank you. This fall, we're seeing a huge rise in love for spidery lashes—and no, not just for Halloween. It's a great way to draw some major attention to your eyes, no matter what you do with the rest of your makeup. Some brands have even released new products that perfectly encapsulate this trend, like Bakeup and their new Taratulash mascara ($27).

Light-Dark Feminine Aesthetics

TikTok loves diving into the psychology behind certain beauty looks ("siren eyes," anyone?), and these two new aesthetics are no different. Light feminine is somewhat similar to Coquette beauty in that it focuses on softer applications, lighter or rosier colors and more of a no-makeup makeup look overall. Dark feminine, on the other hand, is about embracing your inner baddie and going all out with eyeliner, smoky eyes and dramatic lashes.

Of course, we're also seeing tons of food-related beauty trends all over TikTok this year (after all, you've probably heard all about the "Tomato Girl Summer" trend by now).
