9 Nintendo Games We Can’t Wait To Play In 2015
2015 is gearing up to be a massive year for Nintendo fans. With The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask out last week, and Kirby and the Rainbow Curse debuting Friday, we decided to compile a list of the games we can't wait to play this year.
1. The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
Release Date: Out now!
Platform: Nintendo 3DS
This classic Nintendo 64 title goes portable for a new generation on the Nintendo 3DS. In the game, you have just 72 hours to save the world before it's destroyed by a very angry looking moon. Along the way, you'll have some help from bizarre characters, a set of masks imbued with magical powers and an ocarina that can turn back time.
2. Kirby and the Rainbow Curse
Release Date: February 20, 2015
Platform: Nintendo Wii U
In the upcoming Kirby title, the pink puffball is thrown into a claymation world. When all off his world's colors are stolen, he's the only one who can get them back! Players will utilize a new gameplay dynamic that involves drawing lines to create clay ropes to help Kirby safely navigate a treacherous world. We can't wait to try it out ourselves!
3. Mario Vs. Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars
Release Date: March 5, 2015
Platform: Nintendo Wii U + 3D
In Mario Vs. Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars, guide toy versions of Mario, Peach, Toad and other classic characters through obstacles and tricky traps, avoiding the evil Donkey Kong along the way. If it's anything like its prequel, we'll repeatedly play through every level until we unlock everything.
4. Code Name: S.T.E.A.M.
Release Date: March 13, 2015
Platform: Nintendo 3DS
An unlikely crew of characters including Abraham Lincoln, Tiger Lily, Tom Sawyer and the Cowardly Lion join forces to fight an evil alien force and save the world. Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. combines a comic book and steampunk sensibilities into a strategic RPG with as much quirk and character as action.
5. Mario Party 10
Release Date: March 20, 2015
Platform: Nintendo Wii U
This is the game that Wii U was build for. For the first time, players will be able to play as Bowser, using the Wii U Gamepad to battle up to 4 friends. Mario Party 10 all features more than 70 mini games, all new game boards and the chance to play as new characters including Daisy and Rosalina.
6. Story Of Seasons
Release Date: March
Platform: Nintendo 3DS
Story Of Seasons is a life simulator that allows you to become whoever you'd like. After created your own unique character, you start a new live in a new city, meeting colorful townspeople and cultivating your own farm to compete with rival formers. You can even pursue a romance in the game, if that's your thing!
7. Splatoon
Release Date: May 2015
Platform: Nintendo Wii U
Splatoon is like an epic paintball fight without the mess or the bruises. Kooky characters called Inklings run around with tanks of colorful paint on their backs, using paint guns, rollers and more to cover as much territory as they can in their team's signature color. They can even transform into squid-like creatures for quicker travel and more frenetic gameplay. Splatoon is poised to become a signature Wii U game.
8. Lego Jurassic World
Release Date: Summer 2015
Platform: Nintendo Wii U + 3DS
We don't know much about this game yet, but we're hoping Lego Movie and Jurassic World star Chris Pratt will be involved? It follows all 4 Jurassic Park movies, bringing together Lego and 20 playable dinos in a way that's impossible to mess up, and that sounds amazing.
9. Yoshi's Wooly World
Release Date: 2015
Platform: Nintendo Wii U
Yoshi's Wooly World throws the classic Yoshi character into a new world of fuzzy yarn. Instead of eggs, Yoshi now throws balls of thread, taking the old Yoshi's Island and Yoshi's Story gameplay and giving it an all new twist for a new generation of games.
