All the Best Foods and Drinks We Tried in June 2023

Summer is officially here, and with more time off to kick back and relax, it's also the most important time of the year to make sure your fridge and pantry are packed with great stuff.

We're always trying out all kinds of new food brands and products to weed out the bland so we can bring you the best, and over the last month, we discovered all kinds of new staples, from drinks and candy to salty snacks and so much more. To learn about what we truly loved, just keep scrolling for all the best foods and drinks we tried in June 2023.

The Republic of Tea

After a week straight of seeing The Republic of Tea videos all over our TikTok FYPs, we knew we had to see what all of the fuss was about, and the team behind the brand was kind enough to let us try all kinds of delicious tea. Our interest was first piqued by their concentrated Tablespoon Chai, with just a spoonful transforming your favorite milk into a glass of spicy chai, with just the right balance of cinnamon, pepper and chai spice—no sweetener needed. Their Keto-Friendly Sweet Tea Half and Half Black Tea & Lemonade brews up a quart of seriously delicious half-and-half, perfectly sweetened with monk fruit, while both their Earl Greyer Black Tea Bags and Ginger Peach Black Tea Bags make for simple, delicious cups every time. We also love that those last two come in tins with 50 bags each, meaning lots of sipping before you run out.

KIND

When we went into trying KIND's new Frozen Treat Bars, we were expecting a chilly take on their wholesome nut bars, but these new treats are in a league all their own. We had the pleasure of munching on their Chocolate Cherry Almond & Nut Frozen Treat Bar, and despite being fully plant-based, this thing tastes like a decadent fro-yo dessert bar, with plenty of fruit, nuts and chocolate thrown in for good measure. They've got all of the great flavor of a dessert, but with good stuff that leaves us with no guilt eating them for breakfast, instead.

Tattooed Chef

Tattooed Chef never ceases to amaze us. We first fell in love with their yummy frozen dinners (often dreaming of their Cauliflower Mac & Cheese Bowls), before getting hooked on their Oat Butter Bars, and now, they're winning the game with their new tortilla chips. Despite being both grain-free and dairy-free, they manage to give Doritos a run for their money with the new Nacho and Ranch flavors. The wonderfully crispy chips are made with a blend of coconut and cassava flour, while the seasonings are savory and flavorful, so you won't even know the dairy is missing.

Coolhaus

Coolhaus's ice cream sandwiches are some of the best we've ever tasted, and the brand's Pride-themed offering for the summer is especially decadent and dreamy. The Love Out Loud Sammy will be available through July, placing rich strawberry swirl cheesecake ice cream between two rainbow confetti sprinkle cookies to make something that's just as sweet and delicious as it looks. Plus, Coolhaus is donating $25,000 to GLAAD, so eating amazing ice cream also supports a great cause.

Gorgie

Women-owned Gorgie is one of our all-time favorite energy drink brands, so when we heard that they were introducing three new flavors this summer, we knew we'd have to sip them ASAP. Each sugar-free can packs 150mg of naturally derived caffeine from green tea, plus added supplements including biotin, vitamins B6 and B12 and L-theanine, so the drinks makes you look and feel great while tasting incredible. The new Citrus Burst flavor is start and bold, while Mango Tango blends all kinds of tropical fruitiness with mango, pineapple and coconut flavors. However, our favorite has to be the new Paradise Punch flavor, which tastes the bright red punches we loved from childhood in a sugar-free and energy-boosting package.

SeedWise

If you've also been hunting for a grain-free cookie option, SeedWise has you covered. Their low-carb soft-baked cookies are made with seed flour and are also keto-certified and gluten-free, as well as free from many common allergens. Of course, the most important thing is how they taste. The cookies are soft, dense and full of flavor, so that whether you pick the Birthday Cake, Chocolate Chip or Double Chocolate flavors, you'll come home happy.

Ora Organic

We've tried plenty of health and wellness supplements in our time, but Ora Organic is something truly special. Their plant-based supplement use only natural and organic ingredients, skipping the artificial flavors to they only contain the good stuff. Their So Lean & So Clean organic protein powders come in yummy Chocolate, Vanilla and Vanilla Chai flavors for boosting the taste of your favorite bowls and smoothies, plus Unflavored for when you just need the protein and superfood ingredients full of body-boosting amino acids. Every serving also contains at least 21 grams of clean, plant-based protein. They also have citrusy Organic Greens Powder to help you get in extra vitamins, minerals and other important nutrients from ingredients including spirulina, chlorella and what grass while tasting incredible in your favorite fruity concoctions.

Mother Raw

Rich and creamy dips usually aren't the best thing for you, but with Mother Raw's plant-based offerings, you can scoop to your heart's content. We've been enjoying their aiolis, blending olive oil, lemon juice, apple cider vinegar and hemp seeds to create better-for-you thick and flavorful dips that pair beautifully with everything from cut veggies to chips and crackers or even slices of pizza. The simplicity of the Garlic flavor makes it our favorite, but the Sriracha and Chipotle dips are also well worth snacking on.

Lady M

If you're a dessert-lover, you owe yourself the experience of one of Lady M's famous Mille Crêpes. These are basically crepe cakes, stacking layer after layer of crepe with luscious cream and the most decadent toppings to create something sweet yet delicate and completely unforgettable. One of their most recent creations is the Guava Mille Crêpes, combining crepes and guava-cream cheese pastry cream with a layer of strawberry sponge, all topped in guava glaze. Yes—this cake is just as delicious as it looks.

Craig's Vegan

Here at Sweety High, we know better than most that not all plant-based ice creams are created equal, and Craig's Vegan happens to be one of the best we've tried so far. Their cashew-based ice cream has the scoopable texture and rich, creamy feel we've come to expect from ice cream, without any funky aftertaste whatsoever. From the wonderfully nutty Kursten's PB Crunch to the perfectly balanced Melrose Mint Chip, there's something here for everyone. Our favorite, though, has to be the Cold Brew Coffee flavor, made in collaboration with Chamberlain Coffee, which preserves a bit more of the authentic coffee bitterness than most coffee-flavored ice creams, to delicious effect.

Saffron Road

In May, we became obsessed with Saffron Road's Organic Crunchy Chickpeas, and in June, we fell for them even harder after sampling the newest products from their frozen lineup. Each of the meals cooks to perfection in just six minutes, from the exquisitely spiced Moroccan-Inspired Chicken & Potatoes to the flavorful Chickpea Masala. However, we were most partial to the Coconut Cauliflower Curry and Chicken Enchiladas Al Chipotle. The first combines roasted cauliflower and white beans with a sweet yet spicy coconut cream curry, pairing perfectly with white basmati rice, while the enchiladas had the tastiest filling of dark meat chicken, corn and Oaxaca cheese, with black beans and rice as the ideal side.

SOMOS

We'd never heard of salsa macha before we were introduced to the incredible topping by SOMOS, but now, we're not quite sure what we ever did without it. Dubbed the "Mexican chili crisp," these sauces can be drizzled all over your favorite foods and are both crunchy and flavorful, focused not simply on heat, but overall complexity. The Salsa Macha with Nuts & Seeds is a more traditional take, featuring chile de arbol and guajillo chili, but updating the recipe with pumpkin seeds and almonds, in addition to the classic sesame seeds. Meanwhile, the Salsa Macha with Mango & Pineapple replaces the cranberry and raisins sometimes found in salsa macha with mango and pineapple for even more great regional flavor. We love it on everything from breakfast to dinner, and it is so  good on vanilla ice cream (including the Craig's Vegan variety).

Seattle Chocolate

With our editorial director living in the Pacific Northwest, Seattle Chocolate has become our go-to brand for rich truffles (and truffle bars) in both classic and unusual flavors, and their most recent collection may be their tastiest yet. The Summer Scoops line includes ice cream-inspired truffle bars, and between the creamsicle richness of the Vanilla Orange Cream Truffle Bar, the perfectly balanced Mint Chip Truffle Bar and the dreamy Neapolitan Truffle Bar (featuring a strawberry-raspberry white chocolate truffle center), it really is impossible to pick just one favorite.

Bazooka

The lovely folks over at Bazooka recently sent us a big old box full of all kinds of candy goodies, and our sweet tooths have never been happier. The new Grape Baby Bottle Pop is an instant classic and Push Pops are iconic as ever, but it's all of the new-to-us candies that really have us obsessed. The Push Pop Gummy Pop-Its come in an unusual push container, featuring fruity-flavored super-soft gummies in a sugary coating and just the right amount of bite. Meanwhile, Juicy Drop's offerings are the perfect combination of sour and sweet, pairing sour gels with round gummies or hard candies for dabbing and fry-shaped sticks for dipping, making all of our childhood candy shop dreams come true.

Confetti Snacks

After all of that candy, we needed to nibble on something on the lighter side, and Confetti Snacks perfectly fit the bill. The brand upcycles imperfect okra, purple sweet potatoes, radishes, shiitake mushrooms and more into delectable and colorful baked veggie chips. With veggie chips in Sea Salt, Tandoori Curry, Teriyaki BBQ and Summer Truffle, plus mushroom chips in Sea Salt, Green Curry, Black Truffle and Tandoori BBQ flavors, there's something here for every veggie lover. We also love that the chips are crispy yet airy (not rock-hard, like some other veggie chip brands) and indulgent with zero guilt.

Boxed Water

Boxed Water is better for a number of reasons, including the fact that the brand is carbon-neutral and their packaging is 100% recyclable and refillable—and they just got even better with their new watermelon flavor. The natural flavoring is juicy, yet not too strong, with no sweeteners or other junk to mess with water's inherent goodness. If you're not big on drinking plain water to begin with, this flavor might just get you chugging the whole carton.

Aura Bora

In a world of sparkling waters that have only mysterious "natural flavors" on their ingredient lists, Aura Bora stands out in a big way. We're longtime fans of their drinks, with zero added sweeteners and flavored only with real herbal extracts, fruits and florals—especially their brand new Raspberry Vanilla flavor. Combining natural raspberry flavor with real vanilla extract, this sparkling water tastes like a fruity cream soda minus the sweetness, and it's perfectly hydrating and fun for the summertime.

Mosh

Maria Shriver and Patrick Schwarzenegger's Mosh isn't any old protein bar company—these bars are also made to boost the brain. Every bar contains lion's mane and ashwagandha to improve cognitive function and mood, plus Omega 3's, collagen and vitamins B12 and D3 and at least 12 grams of protein. In addition to making us feel good, they come in sweet flavors that taste really good, too. The newest flavor is Cookies & Cream Crunch, which basically tastes like Oreos dunked in milk and then compressed into an incredible protein bar.

Brazi Bites

Brazi Bites is the wonderful company that first introduced us to Brazilian pão de queijo, or cheesy bread, and they've just outdone themselves by adding an everything bagel-flavored bread to the lineup. These fluffy bread puffs are seasoned with flavorful cheddar and parmesan cheese, plus a combination of sesame seeds, garlic, onion and poppy seeds for that iconic bagel flavor. They heat to perfection in just minutes in an air fryer, and are so good with a little dab of cream cheese.

Natalie's Orchid Island Juice

We can always count on Natalie's Orchid Island Juice to provide the freshest juice with an irresistible flavor. Their OJ has the ideal balance of sweetness with citrusy tartness from Florida oranges, while their grapefruit juice is refreshing with just a hint of bitter bite. At the moment, though, our favorite has to be their  Blood Orange Ashwagandha (Aura) juice. The luscious juice blend combines blood oranges with strawberries, with the addition of brain-healthy ashwagandha, to get our days off on the right foot with a flavor we adore.
