All the Best Foods and Drinks We Tried in June 2024

There's no better time for fun snacks, delectable desserts and refreshing drinks than the summer season, and our favorite brands have really outdone themselves this year.

The theme for June was innovation, including new flavor additions to classic eats, new-and-improved formulas for brain-boosting supplements and inventive new foods we would have never dreamed up ourselves. All kinds of brands reached out to us last month to try their latest and greatest offerings, and we taste-tested them all to bring you our favorites. Keep scrolling to discover what we loved best in June 2024.

CHIPOYS

If you love chips packed with flavor, prepare to be obsessed with Chipoys. Their rolled tortilla chips feature bold and authentic Mexican flavors, including Fire Red Hot, Chile Limón, Spicy Ranch and Original, and they're equally tasty right out of the bag or dipped in your favorite sauces and salsas.

MALK

For a while, we've relied on our go-to plant-based milk brand, MALK Organics, for clean almond, cashew and oat milks, and they've just become an even bigger part of our morning routines with their new plant-based creamers. They come in Vanilla Almond, Caramel Almond and Lightly Sweetened Oat flavors, adding creamy sweetness to your favorite cup of coffee without any gums, oils or fillers. They're made with simple, good-for-you ingredients and organic almonds or organic gluten-free oats for a decadent experience without the additives you find in other creamers.

Afia

It can be hard to find great Eastern Mediterranean food in many parts of the country, but Afia takes out the challenge with its authentic and effortless frozen offerings. We'd tried a bit of everything from the brand, from their flavorful falafel and kibbeh (beef croquettes) that crisp to perfection in an air fryer to their microwavable rice and falafel bowls. Everything is easy, delicious and beautifully spiced, so we don't have to look hard for the Mediterranean flavors we crave.

Nightingale Ice Cream Sandwiches

When we think about ice cream sandwiches, our minds go to the basic vanilla ice cream sandwiched between paper-thin, usually soggy chocolate wafers. Nightingale Ice Cream Sandwiches is here to completely rewrite that narrative with their deliciously flavored and innovative takes on the classic. The lineup includes daring flavors such as Birthday Cake, Strawberry Shortcake, Cookie Monster and Chocolate Blackout, each consisting of creamy ice cream between two thick and substantial cookies. The standard-sized sandwiches are also huge, so we recommend splitting them with someone special when you're craving a cool treat.

Coco5

As folks who need more electrolytes than the average person, we're always looking out for the next great sports drink, and Coco5's coconut water has us obsessed. Using the natural benefits of coconut water, they're full of five minerals and electrolytes that hydrate the body and help restore you after you're active, with two-thirds of the sugar of traditional sports drinks. They're also super refreshing, even if you don't typically like the taste of coconut water, and you'll love these naturally flavored Coco5 drinks in Cherry, Limon, Orange, Passion Fruit, Pineapple and original Coconut Flavors.

Cookie fiends, rejoice, because Fancypants is about to become one of your favorite new cookie brands. Their bite-sized crunchy cookies are made with real ingredients, starting with butter, sugar and eggs, for a classic and scrumptious experience every time. At the moment, they're available in Birthday Cake, Chocolate Chip, Mint Chocolate, Oatmeal Raisin, S'Mores and Salted Caramel flavors, all of which are perfectly sweet, a little salty and just as yummy as you'd imagine.

Bubbies

Bubbies has quickly established itself as one of our favorite mochi ice cream brands with creamy, decadent ice cream flavors and extra soft, chewy mochi, and they've outdone themselves with their latest flavor. Bubbies' Milk Tea Mochi Ice Cream recreates everything we love about a milk tea boba, from the sweet and earthy flavor of tea in the ice cream to the chewy, tapioca-like coating. It's the full experience—without the need for giant plastic straws.

Sola

Low-carb breads can be very hit-or-miss, but if you're looking for classic sliced bread with fewer carbs that doesn't taste like cardboard, you need to check out Sola. We got to try it out in Classic White Bread, Classic Multigrain Bread and fruit-and-veggie-packed "Kids Bread," which are all surprisingly fluffy and light and excellent for everything from toast to sandwiches. In addition to being full of fiber and protein, each slice has zero added sugar and low net carbs.

Essential

We're no longer in our pandemic-era baking phases, but thanks to Essential, we can pretend we are—and all it takes is 12 to 15 minutes. Their organic artisanal bread loaves are made with just a few easy-to-name ingredients and ready to bake, so all it takes is 15 minutes or fewer in the oven to get results just like you made the bread from scratch. Their sourdough is absolutely delicious, coming from a 140-year-old starter, and the bread is packaged so that it stays fresh for a long time, even without chemicals or preservatives.

Momofuku

Chef David Chang's Momofuku brand is renowned for its great products, making it easier than ever to cook great meals with authentic Asian fusion flavors at home, and their latest offering may also be our all-time favorite. They just introduced new Korean BBQ Sauces available in both Sweet & Savory and Sweet & Spicy varieties, combining umami miso flavor with a dash of balanced ginger and soy sweetness for the perfect complement to dishes. Whether you use it as a marinade, cooking sauce or BBQ sauce for dipping and drizzling, you really can't go wrong.

Evia Greek Honey

If you've only ever had honey out of a bear-shaped bottle from the grocery store, prepare to be blown away by Evia Greek Honey and their unique raw honey varieties. They all come from the temperate climates of the Peloponnese Region of Greece, with the bees gathering pollen from local herbs and wildflowers that imbue the honey with unique and unusual flavors. They offer herbaceous Thyme Greek Honey, subtly aromatic Saffron Green Honey and the almost pine-like Mastic of Chios Greek Honey, all of which have different notes to add something fresh to your teas, desserts and more.

Scoops Ahoy

You might recognize Scoops Ahoy as the fictional ice cream vendor within the world of Netflix's Stranger Things, but the brand is now fully real and available at Walmart stores across the country. At the moment, they feature seven different nostalgic ice cream flavors inspired by ice cream parlor classics as well as the show's terrifying Upside Down. We tried the sweet and salty caramel USS Butterscotch, the extra cool mint-chocolate Mint Flare and the decadent The Void, consisting of black vanilla with vanilla cookie pieces and strawberry ribbons. The last one definitely dyes our mouths black, but that hasn't stopped us from scarfing down every bite. And if those don't catch your attention, they also have Triple Decker Extravaganza, Cinnamon Bun Bytes, Chocolate Pudding and Pineapple Upside Down flavors that might better suit your fancy.

Goldfish

We'll never pass up an opportunity to try a new flavor of Goldfish crackers, and as fans of vinegary, mouth-puckering pickles, we find that their Spicy Dill Pickle flavor ticks every box. Every crunchy cracker has just the right amount of tangy bite, combining the vinegar of pickles with the herbal zest of dill and just the right amount of spice to build on the tongue after eating several tasty handfuls.

Aura Bora

We're not sure if any sparkling water brand can beat the innovative and tasty flavor combinations of Aura Bora and their drinks flavored with real fruits and botanicals. Just in time for summer, they've released their latest flavor, Watermelon Chili, which manages to incorporate a hint of lingering spice without sacrificing the hydrating and refreshing flavor of watermelon. We love it for quenching our summer thirst, any time of day.

Delysia

Delysia's summer Fun in the Sun collection of chocolate truffles is all about highlighting deliciously fresh and unusual flavor combinations. Mint Chocolate Chip is probably the most basic flavor in the nine-piece collection, with fresh, vibrant options including Herbed Lemonade, Orange Creamsicle, Raspberry Mango Mint, Strawberry Balsamic and Habanero Cranberry Orange, plus decadent truffles such as Spiced Dulce de Leche, Samoa Espresso and Smoked Brisket. We loved stretching out the experience to make the most of every tantalizing flavor over nine days, but we also wouldn't blame you if you ate them all at once.

Oscar Meyer x The Popcorn Factory

Oscar Meyer is a brand best known for its hot dogs, lunch meat and bacon, but they've just made a step into the snack aisle with their own Bacon Cheddar Popcorn. The brand takes fluffy popcorn kernels and adds plenty of cheesy cheddar seasoning and a hint of smoky bacon flavor to make for a treat that's endlessly satisfying and tough to put down.

iTeaworld

iTeaworld is a tea brand dedicated to teaching the world about the wonders of Chinese tea, and they recently introduced a new line of wild teas. In China, wild teas grow in mountainous areas and have a distinct fragrance and aroma, making for even richer flavors. Over the last month, we tried their Chinese wild green teas, which have fruitier and slightly sweeter flavors than typical green teas, with more complexity in each refreshing sip. The brand also has a limited-time offer, allowing fans to taste five wild teas for just $5 with free shipping HERE.

They're made from minimal, wholesome ingredients such as almond flour, almond butter, chia seeds and dates, coming together in the form of a better-for-you cookie with no refined sugars, soy or GMOs and three grams of protein in every one-ounce cookie. We've tried the Banana Bread, Cherry Almond, Chocolate Chia and Mocha Chip flavors, all of which are delicious, substantial and perfect for enjoying whenever you need something good in your belly.

Odyssey

We first became obsessed with Odyssey thanks to their natural energy drinks, powered by caffeine from real green tea plus lion's mane and cordyceps mushroom extracts for focus, energy and mood. More recently, the brand has introduced their Revive line, dropping the caffeine and replacing it with healthy electrolytes, magnesium, zinc and vitamin C to make it extra restorative for when we don't need the caffeinated boost. With flavors including Prickly Pear, Yuzu Lime and Strawberry Passion Fruit, they're even yummier than the originals, making them an excellent pick-me-up for any time of day.

Premier Nutrition

If you've been searching for a new way to add wholesome protein to your diet, prepare to fall in love with the newest collaboration between Premier Nutrition and De Wafelbakkers in the form of Premier Protein Pancake & Waffle Mixes. They're available in both Original and Buttermilk favorites, with a whopping 15 grams of protein in every tasty serving. Just add water to prep the mix before frying in a pan or baking in a waffle maker, just like you would with traditional pancake mix, for a tasty and protein-packed breakfast. We also recommend adding chocolate chips or fruit to make the experience even more fun.

Tonnino

Tonnino is a brand probably best known for its high-quality wild-caught tuna offerings, but they've just added Wild-Caught Silver Salmon Jars to the lineup, and we're completely hooked. The brand takes real Alaskan salmon and jars it in olive oil for flavorful, healthy and protein-packed ready-to-eat Salmon in Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Smoked Olive Oil with Rosemary and Olive Oil with Zesty Garlic and Dill flavors. We love adding them to everything from salads to tuna salad-style sandwiches and even poke-style bowls with spicy mayo and teriyaki, but they're also great to eat directly out of the jar.

Tate's Bake Shop

What's even better than a crisp, buttery Tate's Bake Shop Chocolate Chip Cookie? The classic with the addition of mint in the form of the fan-favorite Mint Chocolate Chip Cookie, back for a limited time. These cookies add peppermint oil to the chocolate chips for a cool, vibrant mint flavor in every bite, making them even more refreshing and snackable than the classics. Just make sure to grab your own pack before these are gone again.

oobli

Summer is the season for tart and refreshing lemonade, and we've just found a new favorite brand with oobli. Their drinks contain 80% less sugar than the competition while being sweetened without alternative sweeteners. They're available in two flavors, Love 'n Lemonade and Str-ahh Berry Lemonade, sweetened not with sugar, but sweet plant proteins derived naturally from brazzein, monellin, thaumatin and miraculin plants. Basically, they use science to make even sour flavors taste sweet, and we're obsessed.

Del Real Foods

For restaurant-quality Hispanic food, without the time and energy, we can always count on Del Real Foods. The brand uses traditional herbs and spices to create the rich recipes you know and love from scratch, and while we're longtime fans of their slow-cooked Carnitas and Barbacoa for tacos, burritos, enchiladas and more, we've fallen for the brand even more with their ready-made tamales and pupusas. They're ready to eat in less than 10 minutes while being extra hearty and delicious.

Sow Good

Thanks to Sow Good, we've hopped on the freeze-dried candy craze (and it's completely worth the hype). The brand takes classic candies and desserts and freeze dries them, with zero preservatives, in a process that makes them huge, puffy and crunchy while seemingly concentrating the flavor even further. The crisp texture is out of this world, and the expanded size means you can enjoy more while consuming the same calories and sugar as the smaller, less exciting, classics. We recommend starting with the Rainbow Bites and Crunchy Bears, but truly, we haven't tried anything from the brand we haven't loved.

MOSH

We've been fans of Maria Shriver and Patrick Schwarzenegger brainfood MOSH protein bars since the beginning, and they just got even smarter with new packaging and better ingredients. They come in 10 tasty flavors, including Cookie Dough Crunch, Peanut Butter Chocolate, Cookies & Cream Crunch and Lemon White Chocolate Crunch, packing 12 grams of protein to fuel the body in every bar, plus Cognizin. This awesome nootropic has all kinds of cognitive benefits for the brain, enhancing focus, memory and more, so the bar does so much more than your average protein source.

ONE

Everyone knows ONE Brands for their yummy protein bars, and they've just teamed up with Hershey's for two new bars representing some of the most classic flavors you can imagine. The Reese's Peanut Butter Lovers tastes just like the PB in a Reese's Cup, while the Hershey's Cookies 'n' Creme protein bar combines white chocolate goodness with chocolatey cookie bites. Both include 18 grams of protein with just three grams of sugar for a decadent boost.

Death Wish Coffee Co.

Death Wish Coffee Co. isn't for the faint of heart—literally. They're known for their highly caffeinated brews, and they even have an instant coffee option for those on the go or in a rush. Each packet contains 300 mg of caffeine to get you through life's biggest hurdles, with a dark, rich taste (minus the burnt bitterness of many other instant coffees). It was formulated in 2018 for NASA astronauts to drink at the ISS, and if it's good enough for them, it's definitely good enough for us.
