All the Best Foods and Drinks We Tried in May 2024

Just because the summer hasn't officially kicked off doesn't mean we're not celebrating in full force—and that includes vibrant and summery new foods and drinks.

From tart, cool flavors and tasty drinks that help us beat the summer heat to savory snacks, sweet treats, satisfying meals and so much more, our favorite brands let us try a little bit of everything so we can bring our favorites to you. Keep scrolling to discover what we loved best in May 2024.

DAVIDsTEA

Just in time for cold and allergy season, DAVIDsTEA has come out with a new, curated selection of wellness-boosting teas for both soothing symptoms and immunity. This includes their Organic Immunity SOS Tea, Organic Cold 911 Tea, Organic Peppermint Amour Tea and our new personal favorite, Sunny C Tea. Sunny C is especially packed with vitamin C, including ingredients such as citrus and hibiscus, making it a tart, refreshing and a great way to protect ourselves before we get sick. It's especially good chilled, with plenty of honey to sweeten it up.

Siete Foods

The approach of summer means it's time to get grilling, and Mexican-American food brand Siete Foods is getting the festivities rolling in a big way with their Backyard Asada Season collection. This includes awesome Chicken Fajita, Beef Fajita, Lemon Pepper Fajita and Al Pastor Taco Seasonings that make prep for the grill effortless and delicious, and their website even offers a special wooden cutting board and grill tongs for that authentic barbecue experience.

Coffee Tamer

Coffee Tamer doesn't actually have a flavor, but it's become such a staple in our morning routines that we had to add this to our list. Just add it to your coffee, and it'll use a blend of calcium, potassium and magnesium to neutralize most of the acid—before it reaches your stomach and causes tummy problems. It doesn't affect the taste or smell of the coffee, and you can even drink it dissolved in your beverage before you eat your favorite acidic foods for a similar effect.

Mason Dixie

We weren't the biggest fan of frozen breakfast sandwiches—and then we tried Mason Dixie. The brand is all about clean, scratch-made biscuits, waffles, sandwiches and more, with fresh, high-quality ingredients that make a real difference. They heat up within just a couple of minutes in the microwave, resulting in restaurant-quality flavors and textures every time. Their biscuits and pancakes are shockingly fluffy, and their breakfast sausage is able to satisfy even our extremely picky tastebuds.

Churn

As mega fans of Churn and their deliciously flavored butters, we jumped at the opportunity to try their newest flavor in collaboration with Mean Girls, Hot Honey Butter. This butter is extra decadent, combining honey with chili peppers for a perfectly balanced sweet and spicy treat. It's also pretty versatile, making it excellent for both sweet and savory preparations (and is especially tasty slathered on the Mason Dixie sandwiches we mentioned above).

Daiya

Even if you only occasionally eat plant-based foods, chances are that you're familiar with Daiya and their famous plant-based, dairy-free cheeses. The lineup just expanded with new Dry Mix Mac & Cheese options in White Cheddar, Cheddar and Aged Cheddar flavors. In addition to being fully vegan, these mixes also use gluten-free rice pasta, with a nice bite made even better by the sharpness of the cheese. They're prepared just like a traditional boxed mac and cheese (recommending plant-based milk and butter mix-ins), and our favorite is the Aged Cheddar flavor.

LEVO

The world of better-for-you sodas is constantly expanding, and even if you're not typically a fan of lower-sugar and healthy options, we think LEVO is more than worth a taste. Chosen Foods

We first became infatuated with Chosen Foods thanks to their mild and smooth avocado oil, which is great for cooking as well as dipping and drizzling. The brand just got even better thanks to an expanded lineup of playful sauces. It includes a new Chicken Sauce, Burger Sauce and Everything Bagel Sauce, with the first two being close dupes of fast food favorites, and the last being unlike anything we've tasted, like a rich garlic aioli with all of the other everything bagel seasonings mixed in for good measure. Even better, they're also better for you with non-GMO ingredients and all of the good fats inherent in avocado oil.

Popchips

Popchips have become a classic for a reason, and their new plant-based Nacho flavor is bound to jump to the top of the "favorite flavors" list for many fans of the brand. These popped potato chips are crunchy and decadent, without the need for frying, and the bold and flavorful nacho cheese flavoring couldn't pair better.

Real Food From the Ground Up

Real Food From The Ground Up is a foodie brand built around classic cravable snacks, reimagined with healthy ingredients, with their cauliflower snacks being some of their tastiest. This includes their Cauliflower Crackers, and in addition to endlessly snackable Cheddar and Sea Salt flavors, they just added Rosemary to the lineup. We've never met a KIT KAT flavor we didn't love, and the latest limited-edition variety from the brand, Pink Lemonade, ranks among the very best so far. It's the classic wafer you've come to know and love with a creamy white chocolatey coating and pink lemonade flavor infused right into the creme, with a hint of strawberry and sunny lemon that makes it taste like summertime.

LAOBAN

We recently fell in love with Laoban thanks to their juicy and flavorful frozen dumplings, and we're even bigger fans after tasting their frozen bao buns. With rich, savory fillings inside of a light and fluffy dough, they're meaty with some of the best seasonings and aromatics to complement the flavors. Our favorite is the Spicy Beef, but we're sure the Chinese Style BBQ Pork and Sesame Chicken will also be just as popular.

Old Bay x Goldfish

When we heard that Old Bay and Goldfish were collaborating for a limited-edition cracker flavor, we knew it would be magic—and we were right. These crunchy crackers take the classic Goldfish and add the smokey, spicy goodness of Old Bay seasoning for a snack we can't stop popping in our mouths. Be warned, it's a bit saltier than the classic cracker, but that hasn't stopped us. It's also the perfect complement to creamy soups and chowders.
