All the Best Foods and Drinks We Tried in November 2022

With Thanksgiving behind us, it's safe to say that November was a big month for the foodies.

Sure, we enjoyed the usual turkey, ham, stuffing and cranberry sauce that come along with the holiday, but we were also game to try all kinds of new meals, snacks, drinks and so much more—especially with the holidays right around the corner. If you're curious about the eats we loved most, just keep scrolling to discover our favorites from November.

Maui Nui Venison

If you're looking to enjoy meaty snacks made with sustainability in mind, look no further than Maui Nui Venison's venison sticks and venison bone broth. That may sound counterintuitive at first, but the Axis deer on Maui are non-native and invasive, posing a threat to the habitat, and the brand manages the populations while utilizing them as a wild-harvested food source. Their venison sticks are so delicious, with great meaty flavor enhanced by spices, with nine grams of protein per stick, and their bone broth is rich, hearty and warming—perfect as the temperatures dip and the weather gets wet. Maui Nui Venison

Cape Cod Select

There's no month we associate with cranberries quite like November, and we were so glad to have some frozen cranberries from Cape Cod Select on hand for the big holiday. Their premium cranberries are tart and frozen fresh from the farm, so they taste amazing in all of your favorite Thanksgiving cranberry sauces and so much more, while being dense in nutrients and high in antioxidants. They also have yummy frozen fruit mixes, including their Power Berry Blend and Tropical Blend, to add to juice, water or milk in the blender to create delicious smoothies in no time flat, all powered by cranberries.

Thrilling Foods Bakon

Lots of people don't eat pork bacon for lots of different reasons, from health to care for the environment and all kinds of dietary restrictions, but that doesn't mean they can't enjoy the smokey, salty, meaty goodness of the iconic breakfast food. Thrilling Foods recently dropped their own plant-based "Bakon," designed to emulate the real flavor as well as the texture of real bacon, and they have us hooked. Their soy-based bacon is thick-cut, with fatty streaks, as well as meaty layers, to simulate that real bacon experience. We cooked ours up in a pan, like we would classic bacon, and we cannot get enough.

From the George Howell Ethiopian light roast to the Go Get Em Tiger Peruvian medium roast and the Counter Culture dark roast from Central and South America, each coffee is above and beyond the average fare. Chances are that you've encountered yummy matcha powders, and seen firsthand how easy they make it to craft your own incredible lattes at home. But are you familiar with hojicha? Jade Leaf Matcha makes some of the best tea powders around, both in terms of matcha and hojicha, and if you haven't yet tried the latter, the brand will make you a new fan. Just a bit of powder and cold water creates a powerful shot that becomes the base for all kinds of fantastic drinks.

Whether you don't eat animal products, avoid dairy or are simply looking for a healthier alternative to yummy parmesan cheese, we have to recommend Parma! and their vegan take on the cheesy classic. The innovative brand takes a blend of sunflower seeds and walnuts and adds ingredients such as nutritional yeast and all kinds of flavorful herbs and spices to get that salty, cheesy parmesan kick you're looking for in a plant-based package. Flavors include Chipotle Cayenne, Better than Than Bacon, Original, Garlicky Green, Garlic Basil and Jalapeño Bacon, and they even have nut-free varieties for anyone with allergies.

Lattini

After trying Lattini, we're convinced sunflower milk is about to become the next big thing, with a rich creaminess that rivals our other favorite non-milk "milk," oat milk. The brand offers sunflower seed milk in Original, Unsweetened and Chocolate varieties, all of which are delicious and packed with nutrients while also being even better for the earth than most plant-based milks. It's a great alternative to nut milks for anyone with nut allergies, and while the unsweetened flavor does have a slightly earthy, nutty taste that not everyone will love, we're hooked.

Transcendence Coffee

After trying Transcendence Coffee's delectable syrups, we're fully convinced there's no better way to sweeten coffee. The Algerian Baklava Syrup has hints of orange blossom, cinnamon and honey, making for a delicately floral and lightly spiced addition to your morning cup, while the Gulab Jamun Syrup—inspired by the iconic Indian dessert of the same name, is essenced with cardamom, saffron and rose for a brightness that's unlike anything else. We've also tried it in black tea to chai it up, and we never plan on going back to plain sugar.

All it takes is a little hot water and a spoon to get a hot espresso shot in an instant, making it easier than ever to whip up lattes, hot or iced. Even better, there's none of that icky, burnt taste you get with most instant coffees. It's ridiculously smooth and will change the way you sip coffee forever.
