by Vanessa Nyfeler

This year at the 66th annual Grammys, it truly was Taylor Swift's time to shine.

Not only did she win two coveted Grammy Awards last night, but she also broke an Album of the Year record and surprised her fans with a special announcement. In case you missed it, here's everything you need to know.

The Winners

Miley Cyrus's "Flowers" won her awards in two categories: Best Solo Performance and Record of the Year. While the singer seemed thrilled about her victory, she was particularly excited to receive a reward from Mariah Carey herself.

"Oh my God, I just got stuck in the rain in traffic and thought I was going to miss this moment," Miley said during her acceptance speech, "and I could've missed the award—that's fine, but not Mariah Carey."

In the category Song of the Year, the Barbie soundtrack "What Was I Made For?" by Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas O'Connell emerged as the winner. Eilish thanked Greta Gerwig for making "the best movie of the year" with Barbie, which was nominated for eight Oscars.

Taylor Swift also took home two prizes. Her album, Midnights, won Best Pop Vocal Album as well as Album of the Year. She is the first artist in history to win Album of the Year four times, breaking her tie with Frank Sinatra, Paul Simon and Stevie Wonder.

Colombian singer and songwriter Karol G won the Mañana Será Bonito category, saying, "I hope this is the first of many."

Thanks to the big night, Taylor Swift is the talk of the town. Jay-Z attracted attention in a different way on Sunday night. In his acceptance speech, he criticized the decisions of the Recording Academy. Specifically, he was referring to his wife, R&B superstar Beyoncé, and the Album of the Year category. "I don't want to embarrass this young lady, but she has more Grammys than anyone and never won Album of the Year. So even by your own metrics, that doesn't work," the 24-time Grammy winner said. In closing, Jay-Z urged viewers to keep showing up, both at awards shows and in life.
