5 Trendy Ways to Style a Trench Coat That You’ll Want to Copy Immediately

While fashion fades, style, in our humble opinion, does not stay the same.

Why? Our styles are constantly evolving! Sure, you might reach a point in life where you are true to your unmistakable style, but for most of us, it changes every day. We love experimenting with new pieces and styles, which brings us to our latest obsession—the trench coat. While they've been around for years, it wasn't until the last few that they've made a bold comeback. Want to hop on the bandwagon? Keep reading for five trendy ways to style a trench coat (trust us, you'll want to copy these ideas immediately).

1. With a Canadian Tuxedo

What is a Canadian tuxedo, you might ask? It's an all-jean outfit, aka, the look Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears graced us with all those years ago. When done right, an all-denim ensemble can look stunning. Just take Danielle Bernstein of We Wore What, for example. She paired her frayed collared shirt with blue jeans and some leopard booties. To complete the outfit, she added a camel-colored teddy trench coat. The shades all look incredible together—we're even digging the simple baseball cap she threw on!

2. With Leather Shorts and Combat Boots

Grab your tried and true pair of cult-favorite combat boots for the ultimate bold, out-of-this-world look. And if you don't own a pair of Docs yet, you should seriously invest in a pair. They'd look great with every single outfit on this list. While it's no surprise we're fans of chunky footwear, you may be shocked to learn we live for a good blazer. And when that blazer doubles as a trench coat? We're sold. We love how Negin Mirsalehi paired hers with some leather shorts, giving her legs a chance to breathe.

3. With a Matching Ensemble (AKA, One Color)

Chriselle Lim (fashion fairy godmother) truly knows how to pull off a colored trench coat. Not only is she on trend with the pale blue hue, but she went all out and wore the color from head to toe! Truly, how does one come up with these genius style ideas? We're loving the laid-back vibe she's emitting, with her trench coat hanging off one shoulder and her sweater tucked in haphazardly. Plus, her trench coat is ultra-long and seems to be grazing the floor, making sure her limbs stay warm!

4. With a Monochrome Tracksuit

Keep things comfy, casual and cool with your trench coat by pairing it with your fave tracksuit. Danielle, here, opted for a monochrome tracksuit, which we're totally digging. By keeping the color subdued as well as the same, focus won't be pulled from what you want everyone to pay attention to—your trench coat, of course! Simply pull your hoodie outside your jacket so it's draping atop the collar, and find a bag in the same color fam as your trench to finish off the ensemble!

5. With Trousers and a Crop Top

First things first—how incredible is Negin's snakeskin trench coat? Serious goals. We love how she took such an in-your-face item and was able to tone it down in a fashionable way. High-waisted trousers will always be a win in our book, and when paired with the snakeskin trench, we're seriously blown away. To top it all off, she wore a simple crop and showed off some of her tummy. She kept her entire ensemble classy, yet trendy, which we think is the perfect combination!
