Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries

What it's about: In 1920s Melbourne, Lady Detective Miss Phryne Fisher uses her impeccable sleuthing skills to solve murders better than her male counterparts.

Why it's worth watching: This show has everything—mystery, romance and a whole lot of stunning Australian accents. The actors embody their characters so well that you almost forget you're watching a TV show.

Call the Midwife

What it's about: Set in East London, this show follows the lives of midwives at a convent in the late 1950s.

What it's about: When everyone over the age of 22 is killed by a mysterious disease in a small town, the government quarantines the survivors and leaves them to fend for themselves.

Why it's worth watching: We will admit we first started watching this show when we discovered Jennette McCurdy was the star, but we stayed for its thrilling plot. Trust us, you'll be hooked in no time.

Travelers

What it's about: A group of time travelers are tasked with saving the world from a dismal future.

Why it's worth watching: Who doesn't know what it'd be like to be able to time travel? Granted, this is a far more dramatic representation of the superpower than we're used to seeing, but it will constantly keep you on the edge of your seat.

Psych

What it's about: When Shawn convinces the Santa Barbara police department he's psychic (spoiler alert: he's not!), they hire him to help him solve a series of cases.

Why it's worth watching: It goes without saying that Psych might be one of the funniest shows ever. Shawn and his best friend Gus are a dynamic duo who somehow manage to save the day even though they have no idea what they're doing. Comedy at its finest.

What it's about: Set in 1920s Madrid, this show follows four very different women who have just been hired to be telephone operators.

Why it's worth watching: If you're a fan of Fuller House, this show is for you. The show discusses a number of important issues that everyone at any age has either dealt with or is dealing with currently, so it's remarkably relatable. Plus, you wish your family was as cool as the Alvarezes.

The 100

What it's about: Set in a dystopian future, 100 juvenile delinquents are sent back to earth after it was destroyed by a nuclear war in hopes of repopulating the planet.

Why it's worth watching: This show is bananas, b-a-n-a-n-a-s. In all seriousness, there is a lot of action and drama happening on this show, which will leave your jaw on the floor as you scream 'what?!' at your TV almost every episode.
