Traveling Across the U.S. Is Totally Worth It for These Unique Pizzas

Pizza is the essence of life.

It can be eaten in more ways than one and covered with an endless list of toppings. While we're fans of the classics, we also like taking our tastebuds on an adventure every now and then.

If you're in the mood for some unique takes on pizza, scroll through the list below to find one that tickles your fancy.

Hot Cheetos Pizza

Where: Ameci Pizza Kitchen in Burbank, California

Why it's worth trying: If you're a fan of Flamin' Hot Cheetos (let's be honest, who isn't?), this bad boy is right up you're alley. Now you can get away with eating Hot Cheetos for lunch and dinner. Heck, even breakfast if you have leftovers.

Pasta Pizza

Where: Rocky's II Pizzeria in New York City, New York

Why it's worth trying: Can't choose between pizza or pasta? You can now have both thanks to this carbed-out beauty. If you want to trick yourself into believing you're eating something healthy, opt for their spinach ravioli pizza.

Taco Pizza

Where: Tony Boloney's in Hoboken, New Jersey

Why it's worth trying: Um, hello!!! It's a pizza topped with tons of tacos and guacamole. While we haven't yet had the chance to try the original, we made a version of our very own. Let's just say it was a life-changing experience.

Sushi Pizza

Where: Tokyo Table in Irvine, California

Why it's worth trying: Hybrid foods are becoming more and more popular these days, but this one just may have them all beat. A seaweed and sushi rice crust topped with crab mix, salmon, scallop, diced onions and jalapeños, this dish will surely satiate your tastebuds.

Chicken and Waffles Pizza

Where: Bar in New Haven, Connecticut

Why it's worth trying: Chicken and waffles is a classic duo nobody can turn down, so why not eat it atop some pizza? Sounds odd, but don't knock it till you try it.

Three-Course Meal Pizza

Where: Krave It Sandwich Shop and Eatery in Bayside, New York.

Why it's worth trying: Everyone deserves to be treated to a three-course meal, and now it's even easier. For the first course, you'll enjoy some french fries and onion rings. The second course will have you feasting on a cheeseburger slider. Dessert comes next (obvi!), so take a bite out of the fried Oreos to finish off this pie.

Peanut Butter Pizza

Where: Zorbaz on the Lake in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota

Why it's worth trying: Everything about this pizza is pretty normal, except for the sauce. Instead of going with your typical red sauce, this pie is slathered with peanut butter and topped with cheese, pepperoni and jalapeños. Stranger food combos have happened.
