We're calling it now—2024 is Colombian star VALÉ's big year.
The Latin-pop sensation is probably best known for her 2021 smash hit "oop" with Kat Dahlia, but with a tour underway and new music coming soon, she's only steps away from her next viral moment. She kicked off a massive North American tour supporting Rocky and Ross Lynch's The Driver Era earlier this month, concluding on May 8 in Toronto, Canada, and this Friday, April 19, she's set to release her latest single, "chill like that." "I actually disliked going to swimming lessons so much that my mom told me I had to do some kind of extracurricular activity if I didn't want to swim, so I decided to give vocal lessons a try. I think it went well."

"I can understand people even if they're going through something I have never experienced. I think it's a trait that helps me write music from different perspectives and write about situations that I haven't necessarily experienced before. I can put myself in someone's shoes and think about why they would feel a certain way, why something would happen to them, etc. I like to think it's a good trait to have."
