They don't have to meet the traditional definition of a mom; if you have a special mentor, family friend or mom of a close pal who's always there for you, Mother's Day is the perfect time to share your appreciation.

Gifts are a great token of your appreciation, and they don't have to cost anything, either. If you ask us, DIY gifts can often be even more meaningful than store-bought ones. Just think about what would make your mother figure's day, and how you can give it to her.

Give a Bouquet of Flowers
Flowers are a great way to show love and appreciation to your mother figure. They don't have to be expensive to be beautiful, either—in fact, you can even go out and pick your own for free. If you do decide to put together a bouquet yourself, though, make sure you have permission before picking!
Cook or Bake Something Delicious
We don't know about you, but there's definitely a path to our heart through our stomach. If your mother figure is someone who enjoys a good meal or baked treat, consider making one for her. It shows you care, and gives your mother figure something to savor.
