Here’s How to Treat Yourself to a Week of True Self-Care
If you're feeling stressed, unhappy or just generally overwhelmed—listen up. You need a you day, scratch that, a you week.
Sometimes when life gets chaotic and there are a million things to do and a million people to please, we stop taking care of ourselves. We let things that make our minds, bodies and souls happy fall by the wayside.
Now's the time to pick yourself up and revive your energy by giving yourself the love and appreciation you deserve. Not sure where to begin? We've got you covered.
Scroll below and follow this seven day self-care plan that will have you feeling worlds better.
Day One: Journal
Your week of pure and true self-care should begin with you feeling out your emotions. Often times, we get so wrapped up in everything we have going on that we don't stop what we're doing and assess how we're feeling.
Journaling is a great form of expression. Take one hour in the morning and one hour in the evening to jot down everything you're feeling and experiencing that day. Feeling sad? Write about it! Feeling excited? Write about it! Just whatever you do, don't hold back. Let that pen hit the paper and write freely.

Day Two: Surround Yourself With Positivity
Day two of your week is perhaps the most important. This is the day you remind yourself how awesome you truly are.
Grab a bunch of sticky notes and on each one write something you love about yourself. Is it your sense of humor? Your smile? Your creative nature? Write out as many as you can possibly think of and scatter them throughout your room, bathroom and even inside your school notebook so you're reminded throughout the day (and week) how much you have to offer to this world.

Day Three: Pamper Yourself With an At-Home Spa
Everyone needs to pamper themselves from time to time—looking good is a part of feeling good, after all!
After school one day, set up in at-home spa where you treat yourself to a facial, hair mask and even a mani-pedi.

Day Four: Unplug
Day four is the day you'll truly have to focus on yourself—why? Because you're going to unplug from all social media. Yep, that's right.
Power off your iPhone, laptop, music player, or whatever other electronics you may normally have glued to your fingertips—today is the day you are going to be completely tech-free.
Often times, social media distracts us from what is really going on in our own life. No need to be jealous of what others are doing when you yourself are living fabulously. Take this day to appreciate all the good in your life.
Who knows, maybe this tech detox will inspire you to turn off your cell and laptop more frequently.

Day Five: Take a New Exercise Class
Admit it, there's nothing better than walking out of the gym or a new workout class and feeling strong, empowered and like you could totally kick butt.
Get that feeling on day five by jumping outside of your comfort zone and taking a new exercise class that might have intimidated you in the past. Kickboxing or spin anyone? ????

Day Seven: Buy Something
You ready for day seven? This will probably be your fave day, because we're encouraging you to splurge a little bit.
There's something therapeutic about shopping, so we recommend you buy something for yourself today. It doesn't have to be big—it could literally be a yummy boba drink from your fave tea spot in town—you just have to buy something that puts a smile on your face.
As you're sitting there with your boba, necklace, new shirt, or whatever item you decided to purchase, reflect on this week.
Remember, you deserve to be loved, pampered and appreciated.
