Kitty & Vibe

Fun in the sun this season most likely means time in a bathing suit, but we get it if you're somewhat hesitant about poolside fun. We are all a little self-conscious sometimes. But Kitty and Vibe is changing that. The brand takes into account that not all cheeks and hips are made the same. Shoppers can choose from multiple bottom size options and varying cup and band sizes for tops.

"All of our campaigns are 100% photoshop and airbrush-free, featuring real women, including Kitty and Vibe customers, supporting our brand's core belief that all bodies are beautiful and anyone is worthy of being a swimsuit model," said Kitty and Vibe founder Cameron Armstrong.

The Collab

The three new lines deliver bold cuts, colors and prints called "vibes" inspired by each creative director's personality and individual style.

Sloane's line was the first collection available, and her vibes are a hit already. Choose from "Ace," a classic black look, "Celine," a bright and colorful combo of colors, "Esme," a pattern made of earthy blues and greens and "Talia," a powerful punch of color with a signature snake design.

"As a female athlete, I've struggled to find cute swimsuits that flatter and fit my muscular build," says Sloane. "When I heard about Kitty and Vibe's transformative bikini bottom sizing metric, a huge differentiator in the swimwear industry, I became a true fan of the brand and was so excited to finally find a swimsuit that perfectly fit my booty."

"Okay so, I love my body in a bathing suit. It's yummy as hell and I want others to love their bodies and feel good in the bodies they have," says Nicole. "For that to happen, bathing suit brands need to have size inclusivity, which is why I'm so happy to be working with Kitty and Vibe. They understand that small divas all the way to the big divas need to look and feel good."

Zoe's line is the newest launch, which is available today. We caught up for a chat to learn more about vibes "Zoe," "Margie," "Dolly," and "Honey Bea," the process behind the collab, and what's next for Zoe's career.

An Interview With Zoe Colletti

Sweety High: You've talked a bit about owning your scars. Kitty and Vibe is all about inclusivity and reinventing how you feel in swimwear. What about your line do you think will inspire others to shine and be confident in who they are?

Zoe Colletti: Kitty and Vibe focuses so heavily on body positivity and wanting you to feel good in a bathing suit, which was a huge part of what drew me to working with them when they first got in touch with me. For my collection specifically, scars are a huge part of my journey with my own body positivity since I was super duper little.

Going into this collection, I wanted to work hand-in-hand with them to focus on general body positivity like they always do, but also to promote swimwear specifically for people who had grown up with scars or newly have scars and maybe haven't felt the most confident when the summer rolls around. Putting on a bikini or any bathing suit that shows your scars and going out and about can be a little bit nerve-racking sometimes. I wanted to take the opportunity that was brought to me to hopefully give a little bit of confidence to people in my same position and help them just put themselves out there this summer. Who the heck cares who sees your scars, because they're cool, and they tell a story about who you are.

SH: It looks like one of your designs is inspired by your signature bow tattoo. How would you describe your collection? What were you inspired by?

ZC: I would describe my collection as fun, maximalist, vintage and girly, and the things I was inspired by were my personal style and the influences I had growing up. I have been vintage shopping since I was so teeny tiny, so I really drew a lot of inspiration from my personal fashion journey. I do have a love for tattoos, so we incorporated exactly the bow tattoo I have, and the other two tattoos I have are little kitschy baby animals, which are a huge part of the main kitschy print that I have in my collection. All the prints exude who I am as a person and my personal style.

SH: Can you talk a little bit about the behind-the-scenes process? How long did it take, how involved were you and were there any challenges you faced? Was there anything that surprised you along the way?

ZC: Honestly, the process was shorter than I thought it was going to be. I really had no experience in the fashion field, so one of my favorite things about this is what a huge learning experience it's been and the fantastic group of people I've been able to learn hand-in-hand with. It took a little bit less than a year from the very first email that I got about working with them all the way to being two days out from the collection launch now, which is just crazy and so incredibly exciting. It was so hands-on, and honestly way more hands-on than I would have thought it would be. So many meetings of me just spitballing my dreams of ideas and them coming back to me with sketches or prints they had made up, completely encapsulating all of the ideas that I had thrown at them. It has been such a phenomenal experience. I have no negatives to say about the process so far.

SH: Do you have a favorite design?

ZC: Oh my gosh, that's such a difficult question to answer. I love the kitschy print with the animals, which will be called the Zoe vibe when it is officially released in a few days. That truly represents my personal style at its full capacity. In terms of the actual bathing suits, the high hip bottoms, which combine the gingham print and the kitschy print together with a cute little bow tie in the front—I'd say that's my favorite bathing suit.

SH: Have you seen any of Sloane or Nicole's collections, and if so, do you have any thoughts?

ZC: I have seen their collections and props to them. Both of their collections look amazing. They feel so perfectly matched to their personalities and what I can see from their social media presence. They've just done a phenomenal job. I'm so excited, and I will 100% be purchasing from their collections as well.

SH: Any other projects, fashion or non-fashion related, that we should keep an eye out for?

ZC: At the moment, Kitty and Vibe is my main fashion focus, but in terms of my acting career, I have a movie that will be coming out called The Family Plan, starring Mark Wahlberg and Michelle Monaghan. I play their daughter. I also have a movie that is going to be starting to film soon that's called Please Don't Feed the Children, and it's Destry Spielberg's directorial debut.
