10 Things We Can All Look Forward to in 2021

New year, new you—same quarantine.

It's challenging to be patient as we wait for life to return to normal, but there are so many amazing events and things to look forward to this year. We all want 2021 to be better than the year that shall not be named, and it will be!

It's helpful to focus on the positive and look forward to good news to keep us moving forward in good spirits, so here are 10 interesting and exciting things that are happening this year!

1. The Vaccine

The FDA has approved two vaccines, from Moderna and Pfizer, for COVID-19. They are now being distributed, starting with the most at-risk people, and then the government will unroll it to the rest of the country. This is fantastic news as it is the first step in ending the COVID-19 pandemic.

4. Significant Astrological Events: The Age of Aquarius and Eclipses in Gemini & Sagittarius

Astrology fans already know that 2021 is a big year for the stars. Although there is no definitive start to The Age of Aquarius, important transits like Saturn and Jupiter have moved into Aquarius, leading many astrologers to believe 2021 is the start. This will bring new Aquarius energy that is categorized as progressive and humanitarian-focused. This year will also have two solar eclipses, two lunar eclipses, and three supermoons in April, May and June.

8. More Plant-Based Versions of All Your Favorite Foods

According to The Good Food Institute, sales for plant-based foods that directly replace animal products have grown by 29% in the past two years. As there is a higher demand for plant-based options, more companies will want to produce plant-based options, such as rumors around McDonald's releasing a McPlant burger in 2021. Plant-based companies are going to make a broader range of products as well. Just recently, Kite Hill released plant-based butter, Beyond Meat introduced plant-based meatballs, and Field Roast unveiled chicken nuggets as well as new flavors of cheese. It's safe to say plant-based companies are only getting more ambitious with their launches, and we will see many new products in 2021.

The UN Climate Conference will meet in November in Glasgow, Scotland, to discuss ways to tackle climate change. Also, Costa Rica is on track to becoming the first carbon-neutral and plastic-free country. They are setting an incredible example for the rest of the world, and hopefully, this will encourage a trend of better environmental actions.
