Don’t Be Scared About Starting a New Year—Here’s What You Have to Look Forward To in 2022

We don't know about you, but we can hardly believe it's already the beginning of a new year.

And with the start of a new year comes stress—stress about what the future holds and expectations. If you're feeling a bit anxious or even scared about starting a new year, it's okay, you're not the only one. In fact, you actually have a lot to look forward to in 2022! Look below to find out.

You Can Make New Resolutions

Even though you can make a resolution any time of the year, there's just something different about starting it at the beginning of January! You have a clean slate to work with and it's the perfect time to make some new resolutions that you'll actually stick with. Whether it has to do with building relationships, your health or something else, it's one of our favorite parts when starting each new year.

New Books, Shows and Movies

2022 is about to give us some amazing content in regards to books, shows and movies. We're excited to see conclusions to series like Ozark and the beginnings of shows like House of the Dragon, the HBO Game of Thrones prequel. Then, there are movies to look forward to like The Batman starring Robert Pattinson and Legally Blonde 3. Some others we can't wait to see include Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Doctor Strange In the Multiverse of Madness, Top Gun: Maverick, Jurassic World: Dominion, Thor: Love and Thunder, Don't Worry Darling and many more!

The World Is Starting to Get Back to Normal

With COVID-19 at the forefront of everyone's minds for the past two years, we're thinking 2022 will be the year things finally (hopefully!) get back to normal. From going to your favorite sports game to attending a school dance, there are so many things we haven't been able to do for the last couple of years. If you want to get back to in-person learning at school, we think 2022 is the year it will finally happen!

You Will Meet New People

A new year means more opportunities to socialize and meet new people. And if you're looking to make new acquaintances or even rid yourself of toxic friendships, now is the time. Taking the first step to putting yourself out there, whether for a friendship or in a romantic setting, is hard but necessary if you want to expand your social contacts. Try to strike up a conversation with someone the next time you're at a coffee shop, church, shopping, school or really anywhere else!

The Olympics

Unfortunately, the 2020 Tokyo Olympics were canceled due to COVID, but guess what? They're finally coming back this year! In February of 2022, the Olympics will be taking place in Beijing, and we couldn't be more excited. Winter Olympics are seriously fun to watch and include events like figure skating, bobsledding, ice hockey, snowboarding, ski jumping, dog sled racing and more.

You Can Go to Your Favorite Artists' Concerts

2022 is the year some of our absolute favorite artists are having concerts and worldwide tours. From singers such as Justin Bieber and Olivia Rodrigo to The Weeknd and Billie Eilish, there's so much excitement to look forward to. We would pretty much sell our souls to be able to see all of them! Plus, Adele and John Legend announced residencies in Vegas.
