What Your Favorite Emily in Paris Character Says About You

If you're anything like us, you probably binged season three of Emily in Paris in under a week and have had "Mon Soleil" stuck in your head for well over a year now.

But, even if you're just beginning your journey of watching our favorite (or least favorite) marketing maven stroll through the streets of the City of Light, you've probably already developed a preference for at least one or two of the characters. And with such an eclectic cast of characters, it's easy to see how having a favorite one of the bunch can say a lot about you. Wondering about what your own preferred Parisian says about you? We'll try to keep the spoilers to a minimum with our list, below.

1. Emily: You're an Optimist With a Ton of Ambition

Emily is as quirky as some of the outfits she wears, and—whether it be in terms of her personal, professional or even her love life—she always finds a way to get herself into some form of a predicament. At the same time, though, she's a true and genuine person who would go to great lengths to protect the people she cares about. If Emily is your favorite character, you probably appreciate her creativity when it comes to style and her profession, as well as her optimism and can-do attitude (something most of us could probably use more of). However, if you find yourself actually relating a lot to her, you may want to take a close look in the mirror and examine the way you approach interpersonal relationships. After all, it has been argued time and time again that Emily gives off "pick me girl" energy, something we're all trying to do with less of in 2023.

 

 

2. Gabriel: You're a Total Romantic

The swoon-worthy chef himself is a beloved fan favorite for many reasons, not least of which are his clear blue eyes that could hypnotize just about any ringarde American off the street into falling in love. If he's at the top of your list of characters, you're probably a bit of a hopeless romantic who just can't get enough of the whole "will they, won't they" or "forbidden love" storylines and the many moments between our favorite Frenchman and his not-just-a-neighbor-anymore neighbor, Emily.

3. Alfie: You're a Realist

Standing opposite the Gabriel fans are the Alfie lovers, who prefer a little less drama and a little more down-to-Earth-ness. If you're a member of Team Alfie, you're a bit of a realist who also loves a good laugh as much as the next person. You may root for the underdog most of the time, but it's possible that you also just really hate cheaters or have a thing for English accents. No shame in it, the guy is downright gorgeous.

 

 

4. Camille: You're Creative/Like to Shake Things Up

If Camille counts as your favorite, you might have a love for her friendly (until you cross her) nature or her overall appreciation for art. However, there's also a good chance that you're the person who always finds a way to stir the pot when it comes to drama and/or gossip, just like Camille with her many plots and manipulations.

 5. Sylvie: You're a Girl Boss

Sylvie drips "girl boss" like a croissant drips crumbs, and we are so here for it. If she's your favorite, you love characters with a well-developed arch and a bit of extra ambition. Of course, it doesn't hurt that her love interests are also some of the most, well, interesting men in the entire show. She exudes confidence, and her all-around "take what you want in life" attitude is one we can all aspire to.

 

 

6. Mindy: You're the Chaotic Friend

Mindy is more than just the "best friend" character that every show needs. She has a tumultuous backstory and still manages to show up with grace whenever her friends need her (and have we mentioned her incredible singing voice?). If she's your favorite, you might also consider yourself to be the black sheep of your family. There's also a good chance that you might be that one chaotic friend who always shows up with some wild tale of what happened to you along the way, or you regularly text your friends "guess what just happened."

 

 

7. Luc: You're the Funny Friend

If your favorite Emily in Paris character is Luc, honestly we just really want to be your friend. He's wild, he's hardworking, he's helpful and he's downright hilarious without ever even trying. He truly makes every scene a tad bit brighter, and he's an all-around underrated character that we're always happy to see on our screens.

8. Julien: You're Sassy

Another of Emily's coworkers, Julien, drips in sass and swag like no one else on the show can. Whether he's grabbing bags for fashion fiends or coming up with crafty taglines for marketing execs, Julien always has a sharp comeback and a fresh idea at the ready. If he's your favorite, you're witty, stylish and full of enough snarky comments to fuel a train to Versailles.
